✨ Breakfast vibes: Mee Siam this morning! 🍜🔥

Today was extra special — we made the Mee Siam paste from scratch for the very first time!

The result was a rich and flavorful bowl of rice vermicelli in a spicy, sweet, and slightly sour gravy — loaded with prawns, bean sprouts and fried fucuk. Topped it off with calamansi lime and Chinese chives for that extra burst of flavor.
Savory, zesty, and oh-so-satisfying. 😋

Xmas Tea 2pm Evergreen ElderCare Centre 2024.

Thanks to Lilie, all staff of Evergreen n Mdm Cha for making this a wonderful Xmas.. There was more food than we expected but I guess we can all eat less for dinner.. 😋Special Thanks to Vince n Dr cha for the small gift bags. Thank you uncle neos daughters n kids for joining us!! 🎊🎉Glad to have made something easy like an egg sandwich, and somethin more challenging like this chocolate cake. Glad it turn out more than OK since there were no leftovers!

Smiles and gets up slowly.
She answers you if you give her time to answer you. Time moves a lot slower in a nursing home doesn't it?

Aunty Wong forgets she was about to go to the mess hall and starts scratching her legs. I'll remind her again.

🌙Mooncake festival, or the mid Autumn Fest, is soon to be upon us. This is the time for families to get together and celebrate. Not to be outdone, we at Evergreen hold this festival at our home for our dear elderly tenants.

There will be those delicious round mooncakes, and also lots of fried foods, fruits, snacks..basically yummy stuffs that we cannot eat every single day but is fine when consumed once in say, a "full" moon 😂

Do have a good reunion with those you love and try to eat moderate amounts of mooncake ya ...

👵Living alone can have a huge impact on a person’s health and eating habits as well as their motivation to cook. A lack of interest in cooking meals is extremely common among older people, simply because they don’t believe it is worth going to so much fuss for one person or they don’t have the inspiration when it comes to meal ideas.

Other problems such as mobility, teeth and denture problems and weakened hands can also lead an older person to feel less obliged to cook proper meals. At Evergreen ElderCare Centre we are glad to provide home cooked meals low in salt and rich in dietary fibre and essential nutrients. And should your family member wish to be allowed to cook, we are all for bringing them into the kitchen. After all Cooking is a fun way for an elderly to stay active. 🥰
