VAITHEESWARAN KOIL TEMPLE HISTORY
Vaitheeswaran Temple is a small village located near Mayiladithurai town of in the state of Tamilnadu
This is one of the nine Navagraha temples specifically meant for Angaraha Baghavan. The presiding deity is Lord.Shiva, who is worshiped here as “ Vaitheeswaran” ,the god of healing diseases. Goddess Parvati,his consort, is depicted as Thaiyal Nayaki Amman. This temple is considered as one of the shrines of the 275 Padal Petra Sthalams of Lord Siva.One can find it glorified in the early mythological Tevaram poems written and sung by Appar, Thirugnana Sambandar of the famed 63 nayanmars.
This temple is built on in the lines of Dravidian Style of Architecture.
As per the legend, this temple is believed to have been 2000 years old. It is a world famous temple for removing all Angaraha (Mars) related dhoshas.
