💙 Welfare Support Brings Hope to a Young Patient

布莱恩（化名）在六岁时被诊断出患有再生障碍性贫血症。如今作为一名学生，他仍在接受治疗。2024年6月，他的母亲带他来到拉曼大学医院传统与辅助医学中心（T&CM），每天服用中药后，布莱恩变得更有精神，也更机敏。
Brian (name changed for privacy) was only six when he was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Today, as a student, he continues his treatment journey. In June 2024, his mother brought him to UTAR Hospital’s T&CM Centre, where daily herbal medicine has helped him become more energetic and alert.

然而，每月约 RM800 的治疗费用，让这个三孩家庭压力沉重。布莱恩是长子，而妹妹患有遗传性疾病，需要父亲全天候照顾，母亲则是家中唯一的经济支柱。
But the cost—about RM800 per month—placed a heavy burden on the family. Brian is the eldest of three children. His younger sister has a genetic condition and requires full-time care from their father, while their mother is the family’s sole breadwinner.

在了解到他们的困境后，福利基金伸出援手，承担了部分门诊治疗费用。这减轻了家庭的经济压力，让他们能够更专注在布莱恩的健康与未来。
Recognizing the family’s struggle, the Welfare Fund stepped in to cover part of Brian’s outpatient treatment. This support eased their financial stress, allowing the family to focus on what matters most—Brian’s health and well-being.

💖 Last Sunday, UTAR Hospital was delighted to join the Fit & Fabulous Wellness Carnival organised in collaboration with FFWC2025.utar . Paediatrician Dr Chua shared an insightful talk about the importance of vaccinations and community health, while our Emergency Physician Dr Tan talked about hypertension, high blood sugar and high cholesterol.

Our nurses and dietitian also engaged with the crowd through free health screenings and fun activities, making health awareness both meaningful and enjoyable.
