Department of Surgery CME 2026

This session marks the beginning of our monthly CME activities for 2026, aimed at continuous learning, academic engagement, and improvement in surgical practice.

The presentation was delivered by Dr Muhammad Afiq Kamarulzaman on Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS), under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr Nor Faezan Abdul Rashid.

Thank you to the CME Coordinator, Dr Muhammad Khidir Kamil, for arranging the session.

We hope these monthly CME activities will continue to strengthen knowledge, collaboration, and patient care throughout the year.

A meaningful health talk was held on **15th November 2025** at Masjid Saidina Umar Al-Khattab, Bukit Damansara, The event, organised by the mosque as part of its community outreach, featured volunteer specialists from Hospital UiTM Puncak Alam who were invited to share their expertise.

**Consultant Upper GI, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgeon Dr. Theevashini Krishnasamy** delivered a talk titled **“From Struggle to Success: Modern Insights into Obesity and Bariatric Surgery.”** , addressing common concerns and engaging with an attentive audience.

Assoc. Prof. Suzzana also contributed with valuable insights on cervical cancer, making the programme well-rounded and impactful for the community.

This initiative reflects the commitment of Hospital UiTM Puncak Alam and its specialists to community service—raising awareness, encouraging prevention, and empowering the public with accessible, evidence-based knowledge.
