Theme : YOGA IS A WAY IF LIFE 🍀

🌻 A Glimpse Into My Yoga Journey
This year marks the fifth year of my yoga journey — a path that began not out of ambition, but from a place of emotional collapse.

When I look back at my very first yoga class, I see a version of myself that was fragile, disheartened, and drained of belief, joy, and even self-love. I was quietly battling the aftermath of a painful breakup, struggling in silence while appearing fine on the outside. No one truly knew the emotional storm I was weathering.

At one point, I realised I needed a shift — not just in my routine, but in my soul. I felt myself slowly slipping into a depressive state, disconnected from life. Then, in August 2020, a message from a friend changed everything. She invited me to ANANDAMAYA’s grand opening day. I attended as a guest, curious but hesitant — yet by the end of the event, something within me stirred. I took a leap of faith and enrolled in the next class.

And that’s where my journey began.

Fast forward to today — these five years have been nothing short of transformative. Yoga has not just been a practice; it has been a profound evolution. Through endless asana flows, deep pranayama, and soul-touching story circles, I’ve rediscovered myself layer by layer.

If someone were to ask me, “What does yoga mean to you?” — I would say this without hesitation:

Yoga is my second mother.
A nurturing presence that sees through me, grounds me, uplifts me, and lovingly pushes me to be honest with myself.
Yoga has held me through my darkest days and stood by me during my brightest — like a mother who embraces her child, offering silent strength in every moment.

I recall a moment when my cousin asked, “How did you rise from that breakdown?”
And I answered simply: Yoga.

Yoga healed me.
Yoga calmed the chaos within.
Yoga taught me to be more mindful, to accept reality with grace, and to release pain without resistance.
Yoga didn’t just change me — it rebirthed me.

Today, I am not just existing — I am living, with intention, purpose, and quiet strength.
As my master beautifully reminds us:
“Yoga isn’t just what happens on the mat — it’s far beyond that.”
And now, I truly understand the essence of that wisdom.

I am no one extraordinary — just a simple soul offering heartfelt gratitude to yoga… for finding me, holding me, and choosing me.

🌿 Why I Chose This Picture for ANANDAMAYA’S International Yoga Day Competition 2025
This image captures a quiet moment of stillness — a gentle calm reflected on my face.
The vibrant flowers represent the color and light yoga has brought into my life.
The temple entrance signifies my spiritual surrender, a doorway into deeper self-realization.
And the seated posture reflects my grounding — a commitment to remain humble, no matter what victories life may offer.

🏵 Story Behind the Picture
This photo was taken at a Shivan temple in Dubai — a visit that wasn’t planned, but divinely timed.
During a short layover at the airport, I managed to visit the temple, and what unfolded was an experience of pure grace.

In that sacred space, I sat in silence, offered my prayers, meditated, and received a humble scoop of prasadham.
That moment brought a serenity that no luxurious restaurant or iconic skyscraper could offer.

Even today, when I see this photo in my gallery, I’m reminded of that sense of peace, of being fully present, of connecting with something far greater than myself.

💐 Caption for the Picture:
"In the silence of sacred spaces, I return to myself.
No asanas, no postures — just breath, awareness, and the soul’s quiet prayer.
This too is yoga… a journey within, wherever I am." 🕊️✨🪷

🍀S A D H A N A. V I D Y A🍀

DAY 16 - Breathe. Balance. Be
Balance begins within.

We often think that balance will come when circumstances change, when we have more time, less stress, or better conditions. But real balance doesn’t start there.

It starts with us‼️
Balance is a personal responsibility. Only you can define it and protect it.

It starts with our choices, boundaries, self-awareness, and the way we treat ourselves.

Remember, you can’t pour from a cup that’s storming inside. "Find your calm, and balance will rise."

Peace ❤️

Be an observer!

Observe the Sun ☀️
It teaches you to become bright and powerful
that the world needs you, but it can't
stand against you. It's a sign of perseverance & endurance.

Observe the Wind🎐
You try to obstruct it, It will still pass by your side.
It teaches you that, even when struggles arise,
you still have thousands of paths to reach your destination, to never get blocked by any obstacle. Graciously move last & around.

Observe the flowers 🌻
Sunflower has the tendency to
choose the path of the sun. Listen to your heart.
The most beautiful lotus grows in deepest mud. Life may be tough but honour the darkest part of your life,
because they are what allow us to birth our most beautiful side.

Observe the trees 🌲
The steadfast of trees, roots deeply intertwined with the earth, have weathered countless challenges, teaches us to stand tall, grow strong, and never forget that within you is the power to overcome, to flourish, and to transform every obstacle into miracle.

🍀Nature is our great teacher 🍀

Trust in it, for it knows your strength, your worth, and your potential. Just as a tree knows to grow towards the light, your inner voice knows the path to your true potential.

Challenge the limiting beliefs that have taken root within you. Break the soil, reach for the light, and grow.

Peace ❤️

A little long story of mine.

As vividly as I remember, 35 years ago, everytime when I'm asked 'What is your ambition', 'What you want to become as?, my sole answer was 'I want to become as a teacher'. My stance has remained unchanged. I have always held this belief close to my heart.

During my primary school days, nearly the age of 11, with little pocket money that I have, I used to buy 'buku kerja' from my school bookshops. Whether or not I really do my 'kerja', I find it absolutely fascinating by correcting my own answers, by giving self- scores which never fails to be less than 100/100. I end the marking session with red hue by giving a self-appraisal, which commonly finishes with 'excellent..good.. very good'. I have always seen myself as a passionate teacher.

After the completion of my SPM, while still doing my STPM, I ventured into making my dream to reality by taking up exams to join Maktab Perguruan. To my amazement, I passed all their three levels of examinations.

The joy was beyond measure!

As the quote says ' Change is inevitable', my life took a whole different direction when I got an opportunity to study medicine abroad.
Weighing between these two things, at the tender age of 18, I rested my decision to fly far and wide to pursue medicine which never once I regretted neither.

Fast forward to 23 years later, today, I can hear more voices calling me teacher rather than doctor. Although I never get to stand infront of a blackboard, regardless of that I'm happy to be standing infront of divine, soulful seekers of yoga.
What started off as a mental diversion turned into a significant journey that I never saw coming my way.

What could have inspired me to become as a yoga teacher? All because it allows me to be of service to others, to provide my students the same opportunities that I was granted 5 years ago, to open up their hearts, quiet the noise in their heads, and release what need to be released, to be fully present, fully alive, to be able to fully appreciate every moment of what it is - a miracle of life.

Teaching for me is a transmission of energy. I strongly believe the first thing we should do as a teacher is to be committed to our own teachers and to our own practice. There is a very subtle energy, knowledge and experience that only can be well perceived by continuously being a student. I was fortunate enough to be under the tutelage of my Master SK Durai 卐 Sakthi School of Yoga , Teacher Anuradha Kanasan Angelk and Teacher Mahaletchumy Subramaniam I felt such a deep and profound feeling of admiration towards them.

Needless to say, my students has been my humongous source of strength. There are moments when your students inspire you like amazeballs. I teach because I appreciate the potential of each students, an opportunity for me to share something I deeply love and highly believe is a medicine for our body and our souls.

I wouldn't say it was all rosy. Wasn't I put into turbulences of life? IT DID! It took a tremendous mindshift as well as considerable turmoil that I faced along the way.
One thing that kept me going was YOGA, navigating through all the adversities with resilient and acceptance.

Life is one for everyone. It will not come again to fulfill your dreams. My dream as a 11 years old little girl, did come into realization with whole different direction. Why not yours? What is meant for you, will reach you, even if it is beneath two mountains.

Keep dreaming and keep striving.

To every teachers that I met throughout my life, THANK YOU!

To every fantastic human being who have crossed my path, thank you for being the greatest teacher which comes along with lessons and experiences.

To my fellow Anandamaya fam, I'm eternally grateful and I will hold endless gratitude to each one of you for making me who am I today.

It is through you that my dream came true.

Peace ❤️

BREATHE.

Every time you have an energy that needs to be transformed, like anger or fear, do something to care for this energy. If you do not want it to destroy you.

When you have pain within you the first things you have to do is to bring the energy of mindfulness to embrace the pain.

"I know you are there, little anger."
Breathe - I'm taking care of you now.

You will be able to look deeply at the true nature of your anger. This discovery, this understanding, this wisdom will liberate you from pain.

Dedicating this post to my Guru 🪷, my Master and my beloved Teacher .

My first time holding headstand asana without a wall support. This happened at the magical land of Kundasang, which faces Mother Mount Kinabalu. It holds a special place in my heart for this location because it was there that I had my first hiking journey to Mount Kinabalu with TLA last year, and this year the Mother graced me with my first headstand without wall support.

I want to express my gratitude to my Guru and my Master for all of her blessings, unending love, and guidance. Saranam 🙏🏻
Also my fellow practitioners and my cousin sister who always inspire me!!!

This year International Yoga Day completely brings a distinct spirit and energy among the Anandamaya yogis.

We had various challenges, closed yoga competition and practice of daily Sadhana.

I should say, I'm equally astonished by their commitments and dedication towards their practice.

May the practice of yoga brings peace, harmony and well- being into everyone's life.

Peace ❤️
