Hi guys..
Just sharing a story..
A 10years old malay girl came to clinic complaining of stomach pain and don't want to go to school..
Her mother asked me to talk to her..lately since started standard 4 , she is seeing the daughter wants to be alone, talking to herself, playing phone n drawing all by herself..The mother can't find why the sudden change in behaviour since she was class topper in standard 1,2 and 3. The mother even showed me the picture of her receiving the prizes.
Upon talking to the daughter, she is just repeating what her mom or I said.."sakit apa" then she pauses.."sakit mana".."cakap apa"..but the mom noise was louder than mine in asking her..but I started to talk to her softly and persuaded her to tell me what happened..a drop of tears was always hanging around her eyes..suddenly she looked away from us and burst in tears..she was a victim of bully in her school by her friends. not realising this the teacher is punishing her physically for the mistake she is doing..the teacher never tried to understand her problem..she is studying in an environment where she is scared of her surroundings..n the parents should have taken a softer approach to deal with her problem..
The only thing I told d mom was if she is allowed to focus, then she would be successful..as long as she is disturbed. she will be mentally lost..
This is one of the reason y our country is losing intelligent students..to the hands of bullies..
I hope all parents n teachers will be more patient when dealing with their children..there are times when u need to b harsh, n there are times to be soft..know d children n guide them..
I wish schools were like the 90s where there is equal distribution of races in a class..at least the race was among races but not on genders..with one race covering d school, the male choose to show their strength to females..
Hope action taken before it's too late
Thanks
