The other day in a training session, we broke into group discussions—and that’s where the magic happened.
One participant was jotting down his group’s thoughts. I walked around, glanced at the note, and rewrote it on the board—refined, clearer, and more in context.
He looked at me, wide-eyed:
“Oh… she understands!”
I laughed and said,
“Of course I do. I’ve been doing this a long time—I’m pretty good at hearing what people really mean to say.”
That moment reminded me of the real value of facilitation—it’s not just about teaching content.
It’s about listening between the lines.
It’s about interpreting with empathy.
It’s about humanized communication—where people feel seen, heard, and understood.
And honestly?
That’s where transformation begins.
Not just in what we learn, but in how we connect.
