Dyslexia Vs Dysgraphia: What are the Differences? 🤔

Dyslexia is a learning disability that affects reading and language processing. Dyslexia may also affect spelling and writing, but primarily impact the reading skills. Dyslexic individuals may struggle:
✅ To sounding out words
✅ To recognize written words
✅ To read and comprehend what they are reading
✅ To memorize sight words

Dysgraphia on the other hand, is a learning disability with the physical act of writing. Dysgraphia may affect spelling, organizing thoughts on paper and the ability to write fluently. Individuals with dysgraphia may struggle:
✅ To grip a pencil while writing
✅ To write with appropriate spacing of words and letters
✅ To write in faster pace
✅ To use the correct punctuation while writing

Although both conditions may share symptoms and often occur together, they are different from each other! 🥰 Understanding both conditions may help in developing the best intervention plan in combatting difficulties from both conditions 😇
