𝗙𝗠𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿 (𝟰 – 𝟳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰)

𝙞𝙙𝙨𝙈𝙀𝘿 participated showcasing in its Pre-Congress and exhibition. During the Pre-Congress, as specially requested by the Organiser, 𝙞𝙙𝙨𝙈𝙀𝘿 featured Illuco, a dermatoscope equipment.

For the exhibition, the Team showcased the Versana series. This conference had a good turn out from Family Medicine Specialists coming from all states which allowed us a good engagement with the conference participants. This participation was led by 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮 (𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹), 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗴 (𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵), 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝗿𝗶𝗺 (𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲 (𝗔𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀).

2) HRPB-HTAR Hybrid Fertility Course 2024, Weil Hotel, Ipoh Perak (5 - 6 September 2024)

This conference was a collaboration between Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh and Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang. It successfully gathered a total of 180 participants from the fertility specialists and O&G from public hospitals.

Our Ultrasound Team was led by Xiao Qing (North Branch Ultrasound FSS) and Fazhlen (Clinical Application Specialist). They showcased GE Voluson Swift and Versana Premier..

3) Obstetric Doppler Workshop 2024, Hospital Tunku Azizah (6 - 7 September 2024)

This workshop organized by Dr Buvanes Chelliah, a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist Specialist, Tunku Azizah Hospital (Kuala Lumpur Women and Children Hospital) and was a good platform for O&G specialist.

Ultrasound Team took the opportunity to showcase GE Voluson series and to provide a hands-on experience engagement with the O&G Specialists.

This activity was led by Syafiq and Chew with the support by Felise (Product) and Zatil (Clinical Application Specialist).

4) Malaysian International Congress of Urogynaecology, DoubleTree by Hilton, Shah Alam i-City (6 - 7 September 2024)

This Congress had 600 participants from O&G care segments including Specialists, GPs and Nurses. At this event’s exhibition, idsMED showcased both GE Voluson and Versana series machines. Our team was led by Central Ultrasound Team: Syafiq, supported by Fadhil, Thiri, Mavis, Adelyn, Zatil.

Theme: Unlock The Potential Of Primary Care With Our Hands-On Workshop In Basic Obstetric And Gynaecology Ultrasonography, Designed To Elevate Your Diagnostic Skills And Patient Care

idsMED’s Ultrasound Team actively engages with and contributes successful support to the Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Terengganu and the Terengganu Family Medicine Specialist Society in their collaborated event entitled Terengganu Obstetric & Gynaecology Ultrasound in Primary Care.

This event provided hands-on experience with transvaginal scanning, which allowed idsMED’s four ultrasound machines to shine and demonstrate their distinctive capabilities. The four machines are the GE Voluson Swift BT23, GE Versana Premier R2, GE Versana Essential R2, and GE Logiq F6.

Led by Mukrim and supported by Nadiah, the Team successfully engaged with 33 participants. Mukrim took the opportunity to announce the upcoming new model, GE Versana Premier R3. Most of them were from Family Medicine Specialists in Terengganu. The Organizers and the Participants were very impressed with the quality imaging experienced during the event.

Our Team found it a valuable platform for strengthening relationships and building connections with new doctors and specialists. This participation enhanced idsMED's branding effort in Terengganu and provided a good platform to highlight GE Ultrasound's cutting-edge technologies.

The Ultrasound Team extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Terengganu FMS Committee for the invitation to support this event. idsMED remains committed to contributing to the ongoing learning cycle of ultrasound to ensure our users can fully optimize our robust and excellent ultrasound machines to do all types of scanning.

GE Voluson ultrasound had Sono-L&D technology. Using transperineal
ultrasound, Sono-L&D helps assess the fetal station through measurements of the AoP

August open-access article from Lee et al. showed transabdominal and transperineal ultrasound assessment can be used successfully to assess labour progress and can reduce the level of pain experienced during examination. https://bit.ly/4dxgKbc

🌟 A Journey Into Basic Obstetric: Unlocking the Wonders of 3D4D 🌟

We had an amazing time at the Kompleks Usahawan Terengganu for our event, which started at 8.45am and concluded at 5.00pm.

This event was organized by MMA Terengganu, IDS Medical Systems, and GE Healthcare to ensure participants could perform basic obstetric scans, identify common fetal anomalies, and learn techniques to capture high-quality 3D4D images.

We were honored to have Dr. Kamarul Azhar Bin Kamaruddin and Dr. Noraini Binti Abdul Mulalek from Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah as our esteemed speakers. The day included engaging lectures, live demos, and hands-on sessions.

Despite some feedback about the venue size and sound system issues, we’re grateful for the constructive comments and will address these for future events.

A big thank you to all 36 participants who made the day both engaging and fun! 🎉

Caring for a Patient Through Difficult Menstruation

Here are some common concerns that OBGYNs might need to address when treating patients with heavy bleeding, PCOS, and other forms of difficult menstruation.

For most menstruating people, periods amount to a few inconvenient and occasionally unpleasant days each month. But for some patients, heavy, abnormal menstruation can disrupt daily activities and even affect quality of life. Here are some common questions and concerns that OB-GYNs might need to address when treating patients with difficult menstruation, and suggestions for how to provide care that is both empathetic and clinically appropriate.

1. What do clinicians need to know when prescribing tranexamic acid for heavy periods?
2. How are anovulatory cycles managed in adolescent patients?
3. How do clinicians assess abnormal uterine bleeding in adolescents?
4. How can clinicians address common concerns for patients who start menstruating earlier than expected?
5. How do COVID vaccines affect menstrual cycles?
6. How do clinicians diagnose and treat PCOS in teens?
