The ‘4th trimester’ is a season that’s rarely talked about, yet it brings many challenges and changes for both first-time and experienced mothers. This crucial period deserves greater understanding, support, and recognition.

From breast engorgement, blocked ducts, mastitis, to concerns about milk supply, these are just some of the struggles mothers quietly endure, but each deserves to be acknowledged and addressed.

Attending the 5th Asian Society of Fertility Preservation and the pre-congress workshop on ‘Becoming an Oncofertility Navigator’ was an eye-opening experience. The workshop gave me valuable insight and practical tools to better initiate fertility preservation consultations, especially for patients facing medical challenges.

There is so much untapped potential for fertility preservation in Malaysia, and I’m more than happy to bring this knowledge back to Sabah, where I work, to benefit the community there.
