☀️ 𝐉𝐔𝐋𝐘 𝐈𝐒 𝐔𝐕 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇
Dr. Ko Skin Specialist reminds you of the importance of shielding your skin from harmful UV rays.
There are 3 types of UV: 𝐔𝐕𝐀, 𝐔𝐕𝐁 & 𝐔𝐕𝐂
All types of UV radiation have the potential to damage your skin, but each type affects your skin differently.
𝐔𝐕𝐀 (𝐀 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠)
The most common UV ray from the sun and most dangerous, UVA can pe*****te glass and clouds. UVA accounts for 95% of UV radiation that reaches the earth. UVA pe*****tes the skin deep down to the second layer (dermis) & plays a major role in skin aging & wrinkling.
𝐔𝐕𝐁 (𝐁 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧)
A shorter wavelength than UVA, that can only pe*****te the skin to the top layer (epidermis). Some UVB rays are stopped by the earth’s ozone layer; it can also be stopped by treated glass. Burns unprotected skin in as little as 15 minutes & is the chief cause of skin reddening & sunburn. Damages the skin's DNA & strongly linked to skin cancer.
𝐔𝐕𝐂 (𝐂 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧)
The shortest wavelength of all UV rays. Never reaches the earth because the ozone absorbs it - so it's unCommon! Not usually considered a risk for skin cancer, but can be found in man-made sources such as mercury lamps, welding torches or old-school tanning beds
Now that you understand the differences between UVA, UVB, and UVC, let us guide you towards healthier, radiant skin. Your skin deserves the best care, inside and out! 💫✨
