Chronicle No. 1 15 March 2026
My first music tutorial on 17 March after 65 years was overwhelming! My music teacher .grce was very gracious and patient as I dived into the world of Schubert note by note!

This reminds me very much when I learnt how to do my suturing of a facial wound in plastic surgery. The discipline enveloped in the passion to learn the art of feeling the emotions that the composer Schubert might have might experienced.

My first lesson in the art of resplendence in music theory...

The Power of Choice: The space represents the pause between an external event (stimulus) and our reaction (response). It is where we can choose a thoughtful action instead of reacting emotionally.

When you are on an adventure to find that passion and soul in a piece of classical music that has captivated your thoughts and meditation for 50 years over, it"s amazing the folks you meet that just add spice to the journey.

Met Aaron and Jude at Legato Music, Likas Square and it promises new paths ahead that will hopefully and prayerfully lead me into the mind and soul within Austrian composer Franz Schubert 199 years ago.

If music be the food of love, play on. 🎶🔥🥂🙏🏽🫶

The G-flat major Impromptu, Op. 90 No. 3 by Franz Schubert is one of the most beloved short piano pieces ever written. Unlike many famous works, it does not come with a dramatic personal story, but its background is deeply tied to the final years of Schubert’s life—years filled with urgency, reflection, and extraordinary creativity.

This lyrical piece of meditation has been with me since medical school in the 70's and right through my professional career as a doctor and plastic surgeon.

My operating theatre staff would always make sure this go-to classical piece was on my playlist.

Today 13 March 2026 I engaged my 1st music teacher Jacqueline Grace after 60 years to help me through the main theme bars that will help me captivate the soul and passion in this magical piece of music that has helped me through many valleys in my life.
