Cholesterol is not scary, and nor it the problem. #常让人误解的胆固醇 #可怜的胆固醇

Cholesterol is what makes you smart and what makes acupuncture works (the brain receiving the signals from the stimulated points from the body).

The real culprit is our state of 𝐮𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 and lack of clarity in life that lead us to sugar craving and convenient food - refined carbs.

And I would like to stress, RICE is ok. Refined carbs means it's highly processed where the nutrients are being taken away (not whole food anymore) and grounded so we don't have to chew too much. That includes fruit juices and all the cheap snacks out there.

I can confidently say this as it helped many of my patients (there are more to it of course, like herbs and diet to reduce inflammations and the correct exercises to improve muscles condition around the core etc).

Don't stop eating good fats when you are told your cholesterol level is 'high'. It's your long term stress level and highly unhappy state of mind that you need to look into first and foremost. Most of the time, a really good long break, like 3 months off from your stressful environment - work or family, can heal the liver.

I can go on a lot more but I'll leave it for the individual consult session. 😃

Fascinating facts about cholesterol—what it is, where it comes from, what it does in the body, and how it is connected to heart disease.

Having your main meals made up of whole food is the best health regime you can do for yourself everyday.

Reduce the deep fried stuff, less fructose and red meat, and minimal gluten are my holy grails to fitness pre menopausal.

❌ sugary drinks
❌ alcohol

I want to bust the myth: YOU CAN TAKE RADISH 白萝卜WHILE TAKING CHINESE HERBS unless it has Rehmannia 熟地黄 in it. See comments below.

Our Story

Combined with her knowledge in the IT world and a Fine Art background, Ah Fang answers to her true calling in the art of ancient healing through needling and herbal prescriptions based on the Yin Yang and Five Elements concept of Traditional Medicine. The setup of her practice, Lily Valley Acupuncture, reflects an artistic modern oasis for healing in the hustle bustle of Bukit Bintang, which is a colourful melting pot hidden away from the commercial district of the city. Ah Fang believes in true healing in the sense that one must look at an ailment or discomfort from a higher perspective of the connection of the Mind, Body and Soul. As modern humans, we tend to get lost in the everyday chase of material want and have forgotten about our inner calling and talent. The imbalances are: 1) We do not know how to be quiet or alone with ourselves, in another word, how to be soulful, thus the lacking of. 2) Overthinking has become the new addiction; an example of overworking the mind, thus the excess of. 3) We use less and less of our muscles for physical movement and sit way too much, thus the stagnation and slowdown or movement. 4) Way too much of ‘scientifically’ designed food, thus the lack of essential trace minerals and too much in quantity causing a Yin Excess Syndrome in modern human.

Ah Fang strives to provide Mind, Body and Way of Living advice to help patients on the road of recovery. It’s a journey of self discovery and being committed to our own existence.
