Sleep is one of the main ways your brain and nervous system stay emotionally balanced. It gives your nervous system a chance to reset, helping your body and brain return to a calmer baseline instead of starting the day already overstimulated.

At the same time, not everyone can get enough sleep. Work, caregiving, health issues, and life stress can make rest difficult — and that isn’t a personal failure.

If full nights of sleep aren’t possible right now, small forms of rest still matter.
Slowing your breathing, resting your eyes, reducing screen time, or taking short quiet breaks all help signal safety to your nervous system.

Rest is essential for mental health — but it doesn’t have to be perfect to be helpful. Even small moments of rest support how your nervous system heals.

睡眠是大脑和神经系统维持情绪平衡的重要方式。
它让神经系统有机会重置,帮助身心回到较平稳的状态,而不是每天一开始就处在过度刺激中。
