At the same time, not everyone can get enough sleep. Work, caregiving, health issues, and life stress can make rest difficult — and that isn’t a personal failure.
If full nights of sleep aren’t possible right now, small forms of rest still matter.
Slowing your breathing, resting your eyes, reducing screen time, or taking short quiet breaks all help signal safety to your nervous system.
Rest is essential for mental health — but it doesn’t have to be perfect to be helpful. Even small moments of rest support how your nervous system heals.
