The test kit is intended for qualitative detection of Group B Streptococcus antigen in women ge***al tract or recta swab samples Scientific name of Group B Streptococcus is S.agalactiae. Because the polysaccharides in its cytoderm belong to of Group B of structural classification of antigen, so it is generally called GBS (Group B Streptococcus). GBS is a kind of Gram-positive streptococcus, arrayed in pair of chain. Normally parasitize in va**na or re**um. It is a opportunistic pathogen. It may cause septicemia of newborn, pneumonia, dysgnosia, microcephalus, epicohpasis etc. Meanwhile, it may cause pregnant women infection, premature delivery, fetus maldevelopment (infant of low birth weight), premature rupture of fetal membranes and late abortion.
