June is also Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month! It is not only a time to shine a purple light for the millions of individuals worldwide and their family members and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease, but also to understand our brain better. Did you know information runs between neurons in your brain for everything we see, think or do? And these information travel at different speeds within different types of neurons, with signals traveling as slow as about 1 mph or as fast as about 268 mph! The key message is that your brain is an organ that is connected to everything else happening in your body. So if you're ever feeling weathered down, take a step back, breathe, relax and give your brain a break.

Simple things such as sleep, diet, exercise, and (positive) social interaction can make a difference to your mental health!
