Why kids go hyper after iftar 😅
You: 🫠 Food coma
Kids: 🏃‍♂️ Track meet

Usually because:
1. Sugar + carbs quick energy
2. Release after holding it together all day
3. Overtired = wired
4. They want your attention when you’re finally free‌

What helps:
✓ Protein first, sweet later
✓ 10 min heavy play before iftar
✓ Dim lights + calm routine after Isyak
✓ Some nights, ride it out 😅

If it feels extreme or unsafe, consult your pediatrician.

“Anak umur berapa boleh start puasa?”

Soalan every parent tanya setiap Ramadan. Here’s the honest answer. 💜

THE ISLAMIC FRAMEWORK:
Fasting becomes WAJIB at puberty (baligh).
Before that? It’s training — encouraged, not required.
Children are NOT sinful for not fasting.

IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT AGE:
A 7-year-old who’s small & active ≠ a 7-year-old who’s bigger & eats well.

READINESS SIGNS:
✓ Understands WHY we fast (not just “sebab kena”)
✓ Physically healthy & growing well
✓ Shows interest & asks to try
✓ Can handle delayed gratification
✓ Typical age: 7-10 years old

HOW TO START (GRADUALLY):

1️⃣ HALF-DAY FAST
Sahur → fast until Zohor → light lunch
Builds confidence without overwhelming

2️⃣ PUASA MAKANAN
No food, but can drink water
Reduces dehydration risk, still teaches discipline

3️⃣ WEEKENDS ONLY
Full fast when home & rested
Let THEM choose which days

MAKE IT POSITIVE:
✓ Praise effort, not just completion
✓ Celebrate with special iftar
✓ Let them help prepare meals
✓ “I’m proud of you for trying”

❌ Don’t shame if they break fast
❌ Don’t compare to cousins
❌ Don’t force through if unwell

STOP IF: Dizziness, vomiting, severe headache, pale, refusing water

“DULU KITA UMUR 5 DAH PUASA...”
Every child is different. You know your child best. Smile, nod, do what’s right for YOUR child. 😅

There’s no trophy for “earliest faster.”
There’s no shame in starting slow.

The goal: a child who LOVES Ramadan and wants to fast when they’re ready.

That takes time. And that’s okay. 🤍

Ramadan Mubarak.

Raya confession ... diaper baby lagi penting dari baju raya dia.
Sebagai mama, I check every label on everything yang touch kulit baby especially masa Raya bila kita travel jauh.

According to Offspring, semua produk diformulasikan tanpa chlorine, formaldehyde, fragrances, latex, atau alcohol. Sebab tu I pilih untuk baby I sendiri.

Jangan lupa dapat kan sekarang supaya Hari Raya korang makin meriah!

Baby bangun setiap 2 jam?

Tak, you’re not doing anything wrong.
Tak, susu you tak kurang.
Tak, baby tak “manja sangat.”

Here’s the truth:

→ Perut baby kecil. Cepat lapar.
→ Sleep cycle pendek — 45-60 min je.
→ Breast milk cepat hadam.
→ Growth spurts & leaps = extra clingy.
→ You are their safe place. 🤍

I know you’re exhausted.
But this phase? It passes.

You’re doing amazing, mama. 💛

Save this for 3am. Share with someone yang perlu dengar ni.

Toddler tak nak makan at iftar? Ada sebab 😅

Common reasons:

1. Dah snack siang
2. Iftar lewat, dia overtired
3. Too many choices, overwhelm
4. Bising + ramai orang, overstimulated

What helps:
✓ Dinner ikut normal time (before iftar)
✓ Plate simple: 2–3 familiar foods
✓ Quieter corner, less “spotlight”
✓ Milk + fruit pun okay sometimes

If you’re worried about weight, dehydration, or extreme picky eating, consult your pediatrician.

Save this for next iftar 💜

Baby’s routine totally terbalik masa Ramadan? 😅

Welcome to the club.

Dulu tidur 7pm → now tidur 10pm.
Sahur at 5am → baby up at 5:30am.
Tarawih plans → hahahaha.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the thing: This is NORMAL. And it’s temporary.

Your Ramadan survival plan:

1️⃣ PROTECT ONE ANCHOR
Pick ONE thing to keep consistent — wake time, bedtime routine, or one solid nap. Let the rest flex.

2️⃣ SHIFT, DON’T FIGHT
If baby’s sleeping later, work with it. Shift the whole schedule 1-2 hours. Consistent late > chaotic “normal.”

3️⃣ SAHUR NINJA MODE
Prep food the night before. White noise LOUD in baby’s room. Vibrate alarm. Move like a ninja. 🥷

4️⃣ TARAWIH REALITY CHECK
Can’t go? Pray at home. It counts.
Can go? Leave before meltdown, not during.
One rakaat with khusyuk > 20 rakaat stressed.

5️⃣ SET VISITING HOURS
“Baby’s nap is 1-3pm, can you come after 4?”
You’re not rude. You’re parenting.

6️⃣ WATCH FOR OVERSTIMULATION
Iftar gatherings = sensory overload. Find a quiet room. Leave early. Nobody will remember except baby.

7️⃣ LOWER EXPECTATIONS
Ramadan with baby = survival mode.
Fed baby ✓ Safe baby ✓ Loved baby ✓ Surviving parents ✓
That’s the whole list.

POST-RAYA RESET:
Pick your wake time. Shift bedtime earlier each night. Give it 1-2 weeks. Baby will bounce back. So will you. 🤍

Ramadan Mubarak, mamas. You’re doing amazing. 💜

Postpartum in Ramadan, hear this 💜
You grew a human. Delivered a human. Now you’re healing while feeding and waking every 2 hours.

Islam gives postpartum mothers an exemption for a reason.
Not lazy. Not weak. Not “less than”.

Your ibadah right now can look like:
✓ Recovering
✓ Feeding your baby (nursing or bottle)
✓ Waking at 3am and still showing up

Fidyah is mercy, not failure.
You don’t need to prove anything to anyone.

For your specific fasting and fidyah guidance, consult your doctor and a trusted ustaz or ustazah.

Tag a mama who needs this 💜

Micro delivery tips (so it lands)

• Say “come sit with me kejap” slower, like you’re pulling them out of guilt
•Pause before “kurang iman” (that line will hit hard and get saves)
• Slight voice crack is okay, this Reel is meant to feel held

“Doc, saya nak puasa tapi takut milk supply drop.”

Soalan paling common setiap Ramadan. Let me give you the honest answer. 💜

THE TRUTH:
Most healthy breastfeeding moms CAN fast safely. Your body is amazing as it adapts and prioritizes your baby.

But “most” doesn’t mean “all.”

YOU CAN LIKELY FAST IF:
✔️ Baby older than 6 months
✔️ Breastfeeding well-established
✔️ You’re generally healthy
✔️ No existing supply issues

BE CAREFUL / CONSIDER SKIPPING IF:
⚠️ Baby under 6 months (EBF)
⚠️ Existing low supply
⚠️ Health conditions
⚠️ Previous Ramadan affected you badly

THE KEY? HYDRATION.
Target 2.5-3L between iftar & sahur.
Set reminders. Sip constantly. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty.

STOP FASTING IF:
🚨 Severe dizziness/weakness
🚨 Baby has fewer wet diapers
🚨 Baby unusually fussy
🚨 Noticeable supply drop

And here’s what I really need you to hear:

You’re not a bad Muslim if you can’t fast while breastfeeding.

Allah gave you fidyah for a reason.
Nursing your baby IS ibadah.
Taking care of yourself IS ibadah.

This is not a loophole. It’s a MERCY.

No guilt. No comparison.
Your Ramadan. Your body. Your baby.

Ramadan Mubarak, mamas.

Save this. Share dengan nursing moms yang perlukan permission to breathe.
