JOB OPPORTUNITY: RESEARCH ASSISTANT (mHealth Project)

The Centre of Excellence for Research in Infectious Diseases and AIDS (CERiA), Universiti Malaya, is seeking a Research Assistant to support an NIH-funded mHealth research project focusing on Men who Have S*x with Men (MSM).

Location: CERiA, Wisma R&D UM
Employment Type: Full-time (Contract)

Key Responsibilities:

Support day-to-day research operations and data management

Assist with research planning, participant recruitment, and data collection

Ensure compliance with study protocols and ethical guidelines

Coordinate with investigators, community partners, and service providers

Support testing and refinement of mHealth tools

Attend weekly project meetings

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Public Health or related field (or Bachelor’s degree with ≥2 years relevant research experience)

Experience in human subjects or social-behavioral research

Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English (Chinese/Tamil an advantage)

Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Comfortable working on sensitive health topics and with MSM communities

Salary: RM2,500 – RM2,900 (depending on experience)
