GOOD NEWS.
But for NOW AMBIL PREP MEDICATION DULU BAGI ELAK HIV. Nanti VACCINE HIV dah keluar tak perlu ubat PREP kita ambil VACCINE beramai2!
🚨 Big Leap in HIV Vaccine Research Using mRNA! 🧬💉
A new early-stage clinical trial shows promising results: 80% of participants developed protective antibodies after receiving mRNA-based HIV vaccine candidates.
Unlike traditional approaches, these mRNA vaccines taught the body to recognize membrane-bound versions of HIV’s envelope protein — mimicking the real virus more closely. 🦠 As a result, immune cells responded more effectively, blocking the virus from entering cells.
📊 Key trial results:
✅ Membrane-bound protein vaccines: 80% generated effective antibodies
❌ Free-floating protein vaccine: only 4% responded
🧪 Conducted across 10 U.S. sites with 108 healthy adults
💊 All vaccines were generally well tolerated
⚠️ ~6.5% developed persistent hives, prompting further analysis of side effects
Why does this matter? HIV has no cure or vaccine yet, and it’s notoriously hard to beat since it hides within the immune system itself. But with mRNA’s adaptability and speed (remember the COVID-19 vaccine?), researchers can now tweak and test vaccine versions within months, not years.
🔬 Future focus:
Lower mRNA doses to reduce skin reactions
Further trials in the U.S., South Africa, and Rwanda
Continued work on broad-spectrum HIV protection strategies
🗣 “These are the first studies of their kind and very, very important,” says Dr. Sharon Lewin, a leading HIV expert.
📍 The journey is far from over — but this could be a historic turning point in the fight against HIV.
