✨Have you set your New Year goals/resolutions?
Focusing on setting new habits instead of traditional New Year’s goals is an effective way to create sustainable, long-term change.
Habits are smaller, consistent actions that build over time and become part of your daily routine, making them easier to maintain than broad or abstract goals.
Here’s how I shift from goals to habits:
1. Start small
Instead of “I want to lose weight”, focus on habits like walking at least 3000 steps in a day or have more fiber in at least 1-2 meals daily.
2. Focus on Consistency, Not Perfection
Aim to do the habit regularly, even if it’s not perfect. For example, doing 5000 steps a day, even if you planned for 7500.
3. Celebrate Small Wins
Acknowledge even the smallest victories. This reinforces the habit and makes it more enjoyable.
