♿ International Day of Persons with Disabilities
The Malaysian Journal of Nursing reaffirms commitment to inclusive, compassionate, and evidence-based care for all - especially persons with disabilities.
Scholarly research published in MJN highlights important findings that remind us why inclusive nursing care matters:
“Pattern and Types of Disability among Students in Schools for Special Needs in Resource Limited Setting of Africa” – https://doi.org/10.31674/mjn.2023.v15i01.013
“Impacts of Intellectual Disability Children upon Parent’s Quality of Life” - https://ejournal.lucp.net/index.php/mjn/article/view/388/347
These findings reinforce our belief: inclusive care isn’t optional; it’s essential.
On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we honour the strength, dignity, and rights of persons with disabilities, and call on all in the nursing and healthcare community to stand with us in ensuring equitable care and support.

🎗️ World AIDS Day
On this World AIDS Day, the Malaysian Journal of Nursing reaffirms its commitment to supporting individuals living with HIV/AIDS through evidence-based practice, compassionate care, and professional integrity.
Recent articles published in MJN remind us of what truly matters:
👉🏻 “Determinant of Perception Factors in People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) with the Attitude of Preventing Opportunistic Infections” finds that perceived threat and self-efficacy strongly influence attitudes to preventing opportunistic infections among PLWHA – https://doi.org/10.31674/mjn.2023.v14i03.021
👉🏻 “The Relationship between Family and Health Worker Support and the Consumption of ARV By Housewives with HIV”, highlights that family support is significantly associated with adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ARV) – https://doi.org/10.31674/mjn.2023.v14i03.023
These findings underscore a universal truth: fighting HIV/AIDS is not only about medicine – it’s about support, understanding, empowerment, and dignity.
Let’s commit to awareness, not stigma.
Let’s commit to support from family, health-care workers, and communities.
Let’s commit to research, education and care.

World Anaesthesia Day 2025: “Safe Anaesthesia for All” 💉
The Malaysian Journal of Nursing (MJN) joins the global celebration of World Anesthesia Day, acknowledging the vital role of anesthesia in safe surgeries and patient care. 💡
Anaesthesia has been a cornerstone of modern medicine, ensuring that millions of patients undergo surgery without pain or distress.
A recent MJN study highlights that general anaesthesia, particularly during caesarean delivery, is associated with a higher probability of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) compared to regional anaesthesia. This underscores the importance of selecting the most appropriate anaesthesia technique for optimal patient outcomes.
🌐 Read more: https://ejournal.lucp.net/index.php/mjn/article/view/4018
Let’s continue to advocate for safe anaesthesia through continuous education, collaboration, and adherence to global standards in anaesthesia care.
A safe procedure begins with safe anaesthesia. 🩺
