Another remarkable milestone in Orthopaedic Oncology. 🦴✨ Dato’ Sri Dr. Zulkharnain Ismail, Consultant Orthopaedic Oncology Surgeon, together with Consultant Anaesthesiologist Dr. Fadhilah Taib, successfully performed a highly complex full scapula (shoulder blade) removal and prosthesis reconstruction for a Cancer patient. This is one of the most challenging procedures in bone tumour surgery, demanding meticulous multidisciplinary planning and exceptional surgical skill.

This surgery involves removing the entire shoulder blade affected by Cancer, safeguarding the surrounding vital nerves and vessels, and rebuilding the shoulder using a custom prosthesis. The goal? To restore stability, reduce pain, and improve arm function, bringing a meaningful chance at returning to daily activities.

A proud moment for our team as we continue advancing safe, precise, and life-changing care for those fighting Bone Cancer.

Dato' Dr. Ho Teik Kok, Consultant Vascular Surgeon and Dr. Norshazriman Bin Sulaiman, Consultant Interventional Radiologist successfully carried out an Endovascular Stent Graft Repair for a patient with an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. This minimally invasive approach helps stabilise the weakened aorta and prevent a potentially fatal rupture. 🫀🔧✨

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm is often called a silent threat, many patients don’t realise they have it until it becomes an emergency. That’s why education and early screening play such an important role.

💡 Know the facts:
• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm = abnormal ballooning of the aorta
• Risk increases with age, smoking history, high blood pressure, and family history
• Rupture can lead to massive internal bleeding
• Screening via abdominal ultrasound is painless and highly effective

If detected early, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm can be treated safely, just like in today’s case. Let’s keep spreading awareness and encourage loved ones to get screened.
