Hi Everyone this is a long overdue post. This year I turned a milestone. The celebrations began on the 4th of April. Feeling apprehensive and unsure with the encouragement of my family (EOI inclusive) I finally took the step. We flew to Istanbul. I was so worried about dialysis but to my amazement it all went smoothly. Not even language barriers spoilt it for me. The medical facilities & the staff were very good. I was very impressed. The hotel we stayed in was strategically located. Once again everyone was so welcoming and very helpful. Food was really good. Our next stop was Cappadocia. Once again the dialysis hospital had us picked up. In Spite the language problems we communicated effectively with Google translate. During dialysis, was treated to a very fresh and yummy sandwich, hard boiled egg, fruits & a drink. Then the next day I received my very first birthday gift from my sister's family who accompanied me. The famous Air Balloon ride which finished off with wine. That was another fascinating and exciting tour. My Spiritual experience in Turkey were the little miracles. One was originally I was supposed to have gone to Amsterdam to see tulips but when I reached Hagia Sophia the tulips were there to greet me. I squealed in excitement. Then I found fresh pine cones just lying on the ground and they came home with me to adorn my Xmas tree this December. People were friendly and accommodating. I was truly the happiest being enjoying and savouring every minute. The pillar and the one person who made sure this trip happened is my darling daughter who also sponsored most of my trip. The spiritual awakening was simply being thankful and appreciating life in all its glories. Turkey showered me with their hospitality , loads of tea drunk in their cute tea cup & saucer and immense love. Thank you to all who.made my dream come true....the birthday celebrations will be continued
