Dr. Hoo Yin Shi Dr. Hoo Yin Shi is a Dental Surgeon with special interest in minimally invasive aesthetic and preven She is now registered as a qualified dentist in Australia.

Dr. Hoo graduated from the National University of Malaysia with a Gold Medal Award (Best All-Round Student) in year 2009. Besides, she was the recipient of the Honor Scholarship Award (2004-2005) which was awarded to the top achiever of the faculty. In June 2013, Dr Hoo completed all written and oral examinations for admission into the Australian Dental Council (ADC). In July 2014, Dr Hoo was admitted as a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, MFDS RCS (Edin) through a series of examination. Dr Hoo was certified as an Invisalign doctor in March 2013, after attending the certification course organized by Invisalign. Dr Hoo is currently attending a number of certificate courses for dental implantology. In June 2014, she completed a course in Boston, USA with the International Team of Implantology (ITI). Besides being a firm believer of evidence based dentistry, Dr. Hoo is a keen researcher. She has received a Gold Medal for winning SEAADE-GC Dental Asia Student Prevention Table Clinician Competition in year 2009. Most recently, she was awarded the Best Presenter Award in oral presentation at CDA/MDA Joint International Scientific Convention (2012). Prior to private practice, Dr. Hoo was appointed as a Dental Officer in the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry by Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Besides her hospital based experience, she has worked along with other specialists which gave her the opportunities to practice all aspects of dentistry and to serve people of diverse cultures. Dr. Hoo has been actively involved in organizing dental conferences to benefit the profession and volunteered in several dental health promotion campaigns.

As 2025 comes to a close, I look back with immense gratitude and pride. It has been a year defined not just by milestones, but by meaningful moments, the people we’ve shared them with, and a deeper sense of purpose.

This year, Taiwan has held a special place in my journey. A special note of gratitude to Dr. Alex and Dr. Sabrina for 之道, a course that profoundly changed the way I practise. I was also fortunate to be part of 天野三班, an experience that elevated my attention to detail in smile design and veneer artistry.

This year, we brought Smile & Co. Dental onto the global Align platform as one of the Top 150 GP practices worldwide. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to speak at the APAC Summit, sharing the stage with my all-time favourite speaker, Jerko Bozikovic.

2025 also marked our first company trip to Japan, where we immersed ourselves in a new culture, visited top-tier dental clinics in Tokyo, exchanged knowledge, and enjoyed a surprise visit to the Align office. I am equally grateful for the opportunity to visit the Invisalign factory in Chengdu.

To end the year on a high note, we are proud to have achieved our highest number of Invisalign and smile makeover cases, earning Diamond Plus status. This milestone belongs to every member of our team, and to our patients, who trusted us with their smiles and journeys.

We started this morning’s monthly meeting with a reminder I hold close to my heart, the end of the year isn’t just about closing chapters, hitting KPIs, or ticking boxes. It’s about becoming.

Becoming more grounded.
Becoming more confident.
Becoming someone your past self would be proud of.

As we wrap up December, take a moment to appreciate who you’re becoming, shaped by every challenge, every lesson, and every small win that nobody saw. 💖✨

Before we commit to the final veneers, we always design and test-drive the new smile using provisionals as a blueprint.

In this case, we tried in teeth #11 and #12 to ensure the new veneers mirror perfectly the provisional design, a look already approved and loved by the patient.

This step is crucial. It aligns the vision between dentist, lab and patient, ensuring everyone speaks the same aesthetic language and eliminating unwanted surprises on cementation day.

It is a dialogue between vision and reality. Because true luxury is not loud.

It is intentional.
It is measured.
It is unmistakably precise.

This gentleman was referred to us by his dentist for a recurring problem, the fillings on his two front teeth kept chipping, no matter how many times they were repaired.

When we looked closer, we discovered the issue wasn’t just with the restorations themselves, but with the bite alignment behind them. Over the years, his teeth had gradually worn down and shifted, making his front fillings more prone to breaking.

Instead of fixing the surface again, we focused on rebuilding the foundation. We first aligned his teeth with to create a stable, balanced bite then lengthened and restored his front teeth safely and beautifully.

He wanted to keep the natural fluorosis on his tooth, a subtle feature that’s always been part of his identity and we completely agreed. Rather than masking it, we embraced it. ✨

The final composite was carefully designed to blend seamlessly with his existing enamel, creating a smile that feels authentic, balanced, and uniquely his — stronger, more confident, and beautifully natural. 🤍
