In the recent years, frequent sudden cardiac deaths have headlined the mainstream media. High work stress, competitive work environment and various other reasons, have been attributed to the increased incidence among office workers. In China, approximately 80% of white-collar workers are in a state of fatigue. Among those who die prematurely between the ages of 30 and 50, 80% of sudden death is cardiac related.
The onset of sudden death is rapid, leaving very little time to resuscitate patient. However, there are usually some "warning signs" before sudden death occurs. If medical attention is sought in time, there is a significant chance to avoid this.
⚠️ Prolonged chest discomfort
⚠️ Sudden fainting episodes
⚠️ Unexplained fatigue
The following people are of high risks
✅ Those who frequently work overtime, with heavy workloads, and suffer from severe sleep deprivation
✅ People with irregular daily routines and long-term reversed sleep patterns
✅ Workaholics who prioritize work above all else, working excessively and do not get adequate rest
✅ Individuals who experience long-term anxiety, depression, and high levels of stress
✅ Those who smoke and drink regularly and occasionally experience unexplained chest tightness
✅ People with chronic diseases such as cardiovascular or cerebrovascular conditions
✅ Individuals with unstable pulse rates, sometimes fast (above 120 beats per minute) and sometimes slow (below 50 beats per minute)
If you are at risk, make every effort to change your lifestyle and work habits. Strive for a balance between work and rest, adjust your mindset, live healthily, and prioritize regular health check-ups.
4 essential health screening :
⭕️ Blood pressure, blood sugar, and lipid levels: Provide a basis for assessing cardiovascular disease risks
⭕️ Electrocardiogram (ECG): Screens for heart diseases
⭕️ Echocardiogram: Examines the structure and function of the heart to detect various heart conditions
⭕️ Carotid artery ultrasound: Screens for atherosclerosis, plaque, and narrowing.
Sudden death is like a life-threatening. Beneath the seemingly "sudden" surface lies the accumulated effects of overworked and unhealthy lifestyles.
For the sake of yourself and a better tomorrow, please prioritize regular health screenings and follow a healthier lifestyle.
