ities and improving their ability to engage in religious practices

Furthermore, the establishment of IPIN offers an opportunity for our members specializing in pain management to contribute their expertise to the community on a pro bono basis.

A 60-year-old female presents with a 2-month history of pain on the radial (lateral) side of the elbow, aggravated by gripping and lifting during daily household chores. No acute trauma reported. On exam, there is localized tenderness over the lateral epicondyle.

✅ Diagnosis: A) Tennis Elbow

Findings:
⚡ Enthesophyte formation at the common extensor tendon origin
⚡ Neovascularity on Doppler reflecting tendinosis changes
⚡ Hypoechoic, heterogeneous tendon with partial fiber disruption
⚡ Cortical irregularity at the lateral epicondyle in keeping with chronic degeneration

A 42-year-old recreational runner presents with a 3-month history of right posterior heel pain, worse in the mornings and after long runs. Examination shows localized tenderness at the Achilles insertion and mild swelling over the posterior heel.

The ultrasound image above was obtained during assessment. Look closely at the tendon’s thickness, echotexture, attachment to the calcaneus, and surrounding soft tissue.

Question: What's the most likely diagnosis?

A. Achilles tendinopathy
B. Partial tear of Achilles tendon
C. Retrocalcaneal bursitis
D. Complete rupture of Achilles tendon

✅ Diagnosis: C) Retrocalcaneal bursitis

Findings:
⚡Anechoic fluid-filled distension in the retrocalcaneal bursa, which sits between the anterior surface of the Achilles tendon and the posterosuperior calcaneus.
⚡Achilles tendon fibers appear intact, with preserved fibrillar pattern and normal thickness (rules out tendinopathy or rupture).
⚡No focal discontinuity or hypoechoic gap (rules out partial tear).
