The partners of ISEC are pleased to announce that Dr Andrew Wong/Yim Soon Xiang (黃严信翔眼科医生) is joining the firm at ISEC Johor (Indah Specialist Eye Centre) as a full-time comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon with effect from 27th April 2026.

Dr Andrew graduated with an MD from IMU, a Master of Ophthalmology from University Malaya, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery from Ulster University, which he completed with distinction. He previously served as an ophthalmologist in multiple hospitals in Selangor and Pahang, including Hospital Selayang, Hospital Shah Alam, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, and Hospital Temerloh.

Apart from performing routine and premium cataract surgery with multifocal and toric intraocular lens implants, Dr Andrew also manages complex cataract cases, ocular trauma, and scleral fixation procedures. He performs ophthalmic laser procedures including PRP and YAG capsulotomy, with a special interest in vitreoretinal (VR) surgery and the treatment of retinal diseases.

Dr Andrew is deeply passionate about ophthalmic education. He has chaired and hosted the Pahang Eye Course (2023, 2024), the Ophthalmic Microsurgical Course (2025) which included lectures on phacoemulsification and phacodynamics, and a Scleral Fixation Lecture (2026). He personally trains junior ophthalmologists in these advanced surgical techniques, including advanced technology IOL implantation and ocular trauma surgery.

Beyond clinical and academic work, Dr Andrew actively contributes to community outreach, having participated in multiple cataract screening and surgical missions in Temerloh, Kuala Lipis, and Cambodia.

His dedication to advancing surgical education, managing complex cases, and serving underserved communities makes him a valued addition to the ISEC team.

除了进行常规和高端白内障手术（包括多焦点和散光矫正型人工晶体植入）外，黄严信翔医生还擅长处理复杂的白内障病例、眼外伤和巩膜固定术。他擅长眼科激光手术，包括全视网膜光凝术（PRP）和YAG激光后囊切开术，尤其精于玻璃体视网膜（VR）手术和视网膜疾病的治疗。

安德鲁医生对眼科教育充满热情。他曾担任彭亨眼科课程（2023年、2024年）、眼科显微外科课程（2025年，课程内容涵盖超声乳化术和超声动力学）以及巩膜固定术讲座（2026年）的主席和主持人。他亲自指导年轻眼科医生掌握这些先进的手术技术，包括先进的人工晶状体植入术和眼外伤手术。

Partners ISEC dengan sukacitanya mengumumkan bahawa Dr. Andrew Wong/Yim akan menyertai ISEC Cawangan Johor sebagai pakar oftalmologi am dan pakar bedah katarak, berkuat kuasa 27 April 2026.

Dr. Wong/Yim merupakan graduan dari Universiti Perubatan Mata Antarabangsa (IMU) Malaysia; kemudian, beliau memperoleh ijazah Sarjana Sains dalam Oftalmologi dari Universiti Malaya; dan lulus dengan kepujian dari Universiti Ulster dengan diploma pascasiswazah dalam Pembedahan Katarak dan Refraktif. Beliau pernah bekerja di beberapa hospital di Selangor dan Pahang, termasuk Hospital Selayang, Hospital Shah Alam, Hospital Kuala Lumpur dan Hospital Temerloh.

Selain melakukan pembedahan katarak rutin dan kompleks (termasuk implantasi kanta intraokular pembetulan multifokal dan astigmatik), Dr. Wong/Yim mahir dalam mengendalikan kes trauma okular dan fiksasi lensa sklera. Beliau juga mahir dalam pembedahan laser oftalmik, termasuk fotokoagulasi panretinal (PRP) dan kapsulotomi posterior laser YAG, dan amat mahir dalam pembedahan vitreoretinal (VR) dan rawatan penyakit retina.

Dr. Andrew berminat dengan pendidikan oftalmologi. Beliau pernah berkhidmat sebagai pengerusi dan fasilitator untuk Kursus Oftalmologi Pahang (2023, 2024), Kursus Mikrosurgeri Oftalmik (2025, yang merangkumi fakoemulsifikasi dan phaco dynamics), dan Kuliah Fiksasi Skleral (2026). Beliau secara peribadi membimbing pakar oftalmologi muda dalam teknik pembedahan canggih ini, termasuk implantasi kanta intraokular canggih dan pembedahan trauma okular.
