A walk that moved a nation. 🇲🇾

Prince Court Medical Centre was deeply honoured to serve as the official healthcare partner for Walk With Al Sultan Abdullah: The King of Sports at Stadium Merdeka, a symbolic walk that brought together Their Majesties Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah and Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah with Malaysia’s sporting legends and veterans in a powerful celebration of unity, wellness and national pride.

Our medical team was on site throughout the event, offering health screenings and medical support for participants, while our CEO Dr Shuba Srinivasan and several of our consultants joined the walk alongside the nation’s heroes.

It was a moment that reflected the spirit of togetherness and the enduring bond between health, sports and community; reminding us that every step towards health strengthens the heart of the nation. 💙

We are honoured to welcome Dr Lavannia, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, to Prince Court Medical Centre!​

Dr Lavannia obtained her medical degree in 2009 and later completed her Master of Clinical Oncology at University Malaya in 2022. She is certified by the Ministry of Health Malaysia as a Clinical Oncologist.​

Her clinical interests include breast, neuro-oncology, head and neck, genitourinary, gynaecological, and gastrointestinal malignancies. Passionate about advancing cancer care, she has participated in multi-centre clinical trials and authored scientific works that reflect her commitment to both clinical and research excellence.​

With a keen eye on the future, Dr Lavannia is especially enthusiastic about the role of ever-evolving technology, including AI integration in cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care.​

In conjunction with National Doctors’ Day, Prince Court Medical Centre was honoured to host the Malaysian Medical Association’s “Healing the Healers 💙 A Forum on Doctors’ Wellbeing,” officiated by Datuk Dr Thirunavukarasu Rajoo, President of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA).

The forum brought together Datuk Dr Thirunavukarasu Rajoo, Dr Nurashikin Ibrahim, Director of the National Centre of Excellence for Mental Health, Ministry of Health; Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh, Medical Director and Consultant ENT Surgeon at Prince Court; Dr Eratha Krishnan Gobinadan, Chairman of the Private Practitioners Section (MMA PPS); and Dr Lianne Alychia Hendriks, Representative of the Junior Doctors Network, in an engaging discussion moderated by Dr Timothy Cheng Tsin Jien, Chairman of the Section Concerning House Officers, Medical Officers and Specialists (MMA SCHOMOS). Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh shared valuable insights on recognising and managing burnout within the medical profession, underscoring the importance of wellbeing and resilience among healthcare providers.

Also in attendance were MMA EXCO and Council Members, SCHOMOS and PPS EXCO Members, and fellow doctors from across the fraternity who contributed to a meaningful exchange on doctors’ wellbeing and the importance of a supportive medical community.

In appreciation, Prince Court CEO Dr Shuba Srinivasan unveiled the GP Privileges Program, a membership program dedicated to doctors across the country, recognising their trust, partnership and continued commitment to patient care.

Advancing Precision and Safety in Prostate Radiotherapy

Prince Court Medical Centre has introduced the Barrigel re**al spacer, a soft, biodegradable hydrogel that forms a protective space between the prostate and re**um to enhance the precision and safety of prostate radiotherapy.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Roger Anthony Idi, Consultant Urologist, in collaboration with Dr. Lee Hong Moi, Consultant Clinical Oncologist from Icon Cancer Centre. This marks a significant advancement in prostate cancer treatment and reflects the hospital’s continued leadership in adopting innovative, evidence-based technologies.

By reducing radiation exposure to surrounding tissues, Barrigel helps minimise treatment-related side effects and preserve bowel function, leading to improved quality of life for patients undergoing prostate radiotherapy.

This initiative reflects Prince Court’s continued pursuit of clinical excellence and innovation, raising standards for safer and more effective cancer care.
