World Breastfeeding Protection Day | 21 May
Breastfeeding awareness matters.
But protecting breastfeeding matters just as much.
On 21 May 1981, the World Health Assembly adopted the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes — a historic step to protect mothers, babies and families from aggressive and misleading marketing.
Because when commercial influence enters the room, a mother’s “choice” may no longer be truly free.
World Breastfeeding Protection Day reminds us that every mother deserves infant feeding information that is accurate, ethical, unbiased and free from hidden sponsorships, digital manipulation or corporate pressure.
This is not about judging mothers.
This is about protecting their right to make informed decisions.
To protect breastfeeding is to protect maternal autonomy.
To protect breastfeeding is to protect child health.
To protect breastfeeding is to protect every family’s right to receive truth — not marketing.
Awareness starts the conversation.
Protection keeps it safe.

Kesedaran tentang penyusuan susu ibu itu penting.
Tapi melindungi penyusuan susu ibu juga sama penting.
Pada 21 Mei 1981, World Health Assembly telah menerima pakai International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes — satu langkah bersejarah untuk melindungi ibu, bayi dan keluarga daripada pemasaran yang agresif serta mengelirukan.
Sebab bila pengaruh komersial masuk ke dalam ruang keputusan seorang ibu, “pilihan” itu mungkin tidak lagi benar-benar bebas.
World Breastfeeding Protection Day mengingatkan kita bahawa setiap ibu berhak menerima maklumat pemakanan bayi yang tepat, beretika, tidak berat sebelah dan bebas daripada penajaan tersembunyi, manipulasi digital atau tekanan komersial.
Ini bukan tentang menghukum ibu.
Ini tentang melindungi hak ibu untuk membuat keputusan dengan maklumat yang benar.
Melindungi penyusuan susu ibu bermaksud melindungi autonomi ibu.
Melindungi penyusuan susu ibu bermaksud melindungi kesihatan bayi.
Melindungi penyusuan susu ibu bermaksud melindungi hak setiap keluarga untuk menerima kebenaran — bukan sekadar pemasaran.
Kesedaran membuka ruang kesedaran penyusuan susu ibu.
Perlindungan memastikan ruang itu kekal selamat.
