Here's us eating at our favorite Korean restaurant Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe after a gym session ❤️
Fyi, both me and Jean are big fans of Korean food, and we’re glad there are so many Korean restaurants in KL. 🇰🇷
But we’re not just here to satisfy our Korean food cravings—we’re also here to replenish our gut with probiotic powerhouses, especially those fermented side dishes… but especially kimchi. We love kimchi hehe 😄
Most people don’t realize that traditional Korean meals like these come with a side of gut therapy. 😌
Kimchi isn’t just delicious. It’s packed with Lactobacillus plantarum and other beneficial bacteria that help:
> Balance your gut microbiome
> Strengthen your immune system
> And even support the fight against cancer
Probiotics from fermented foods have been shown to enhance immune responses, reduce inflammation, and improve chemo tolerance (Frontiers in Pharmacology, 2021).
A healthy gut microbiome may also help slow cancer progression and boost response to treatments (Nature Reviews Cancer, 2020).
And yes—kimchi itself has been found to have anticancer effects, especially against colorectal cancer cells (Journal of Medicinal Food, 2014).
So while it may look like we’re just enjoying a good meal (which we are 😋), we’re also continuing to nourish our bodies, protect our health, and walk this healing journey together.
