He felt completely fine. That was the point.

Came in for a screening colonoscopy at 47, no symptoms, just a push from his wife.

We found three polyps.
Two were pre cancerous.

This is exactly why screening starts at 45.
Most colon cancers begin as polyps, and removing them early prevents cancer before it starts.

No symptoms does not always mean no risk.

If you are 45 or above, or have risk factors, it is worth getting screened or discussing it with your doctor.

Food getting stuck is not normal.

Needing extra water to swallow or avoiding certain foods is not a habit. It is a symptom.

Many people quietly adapt for years instead of getting it checked.

One possible cause is Eosinophilic Oesophagitis, an immune condition that can narrow the food pipe over time.

If swallowing has not felt normal, do not adjust around it. Get it evaluated.

He followed every instruction for 5 years. Still not well. One colonoscopy changed everything.

If nothing is changing, the plan is not the problem. The diagnosis might be.

You may be choosing the wrong test.

Not all digestive tests are the same, and choosing the wrong one can delay diagnosis.

Many patients undergo the wrong test first due to assumptions or general advice.

The focus should not be on picking a test, but on matching the right test to your symptoms.

A proper evaluation helps reach the correct diagnosis faster and avoids unnecessary procedures.

Lactose intolerance is often assumed, but not always accurate.

Symptoms after consuming milk may include:
• Bloating
• Abdominal discomfort
• Excess gas
• Diarrhea

While commonly attributed to lactose intolerance, similar symptoms can also be seen in conditions such as IBS, SIBO, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, or cow’s milk allergy.

In clinical practice, it is not uncommon for patients to eliminate foods without identifying the underlying cause.

A correct diagnosis is essential for effective and appropriate management.

If symptoms are persistent, a proper evaluation is recommended rather than self diagnosis.

Most people aren’t getting enough fiber. And it shows.

Men need 30-38g daily. Women need 21-25g.

That apple in your hand? Only 2.4g.

Low fiber = higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, and colon cancer.

Your gut needs it. Your blood sugar depends on it. Your cancer prevention starts with it.
The fix: legumes, whole grains, nuts, seeds, vegetables.

Track your fiber this week. You’ll be surprised how far behind you are.

Not all acid reflux is harmless.

If your GERD keeps coming back, your food pipe may slowly start changing.

This condition is called Barrett’s Esophagus, seen in about 10–15% of people with long-standing reflux.

And yes, it can increase the risk of esophageal cancer over time.
Before you panic, not everyone with GERD gets this.

But ignoring persistent symptoms is where problems begin.

If you have chronic reflux, especially with risk factors like smoking or obesity, it is worth getting evaluated.

Your body is not overreacting. It is giving you early warnings.

This patient achieved significant weight loss without exercise.

But it wasn’t random and it wasn’t a shortcut.

The focus was on correcting eating habits, improving gut health, and following a structured, medically guided approach.

Most people try to fix weight with extremes, cutting everything, following trends, or copying others.

But sustainable results come from understanding how your body responds to food.

What worked for this patient may not work the same way for you.

If you’re struggling with weight despite trying different diets, it might be time to stop guessing.

Consult a gastroenterologist to understand the right approach for your body.

Your blood test says low iron but do you know why?

There are 5 reasons your iron could be dropping and most people only know one of them.

1. Blood loss — this includes gut bleeding you may not even see

2. Lacking iron-rich foods in your diet

3. Malabsorption — your gut isn’t absorbing iron properly

4. Consequence of chronic diseases

5. Your body simply needs more iron than usual

The mistake most people make?

They treat the number on the blood test and ignore the reason behind it.

Find the cause. Don’t just treat the symptom.

Still avoiding your colonoscopy because of something you heard?

You’re not alone and you’re probably wrong about all of it.

In this video, I’m busting the 4 most common colonoscopy myths I hear from patients every single week.

These misconceptions are the number one reason Malaysians delay a procedure that could genuinely save their life.

A colonoscopy can literally save your life. Don’t let a myth be the reason you skip it.

If you’re 45 or older, or have a family history of colon cancer.

Don’t skip it.

Not all bloating is “just gas.” 🚨

Here are 4 signs your bloating needs a specialist’s attention:

1️⃣ It’s persistent or getting worse
2️⃣ It comes with a change in bowel habits
3️⃣ You’re losing weight without trying
4️⃣ You feel full after just a few bites

These symptoms could point to inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcers, liver disease or in some cases, cancer.

Don’t guess when it comes to your GAS! The earlier we investigate, the better the outcome.

Diarrhea can be common but not all diarrhea is “ok”!
If you see blood or mucus,
if it keeps coming back,
If it wakes you up from sleep...
Your gut is not being dramatic. It is asking for attention.
Food poisoning stops.
Inflammatory bowel disease and other serious conditions do not.
Listen to your body. If there’s blood or mucus or if symptoms persist, get checked urgently!
