Not all vomit looks the same. But if it looks like coffee grounds ☕ or red wine 🍷, it could mean internal bleeding. ⚠️
Here’s what it could signal ⬇️
🔹 Bleeding ulcers in the stomach or duodenum
🔹 Tears in the esophagus from repeated vomiting
🔹 Varices (swollen veins) from liver cirrhosis
🔹 Inflammation in the upper GI tract
👉 Color matters:
Dark, sludge-like vomit → blood mixed with stomach acid (older bleeding)
Bright red vomit → fresh, active bleeding
🚨 If you ever see blood in your vomit—or notice black, tar-like stools—don’t wait. These are medical emergencies.

Ever seen ALT or AST on your blood test and wondered what they mean? 🤔
Here’s the difference:
🔹 ALT (Alanine transaminase) → Found mostly in your liver. High ALT = more likely liver inflammation or damage.
🔹 AST (Aspartate aminotransferase) → Found in liver and muscles, heart, and even brain. High AST doesn’t always mean liver disease.
👉 Rule of thumb:
ALT > AST → often points to hepatitis or liver inflammation
AST > ALT → could mean alcohol-related liver disease—or even non-liver causes like muscle injury or heart problems
⚠️ Don’t jump to conclusions if your results are abnormal. Context matters—symptoms, history, and other tests all play a role.
