Acupuncture as a Healing/Treatment Therapy
According to Chinese Traditional Medicine Theory , a healthy body is due to the circulation of a very important energy and this is Qi. This energy lies in the entire body's energy pathways called meridians (12 primary meridians) and acupuncture points "sit" on these meridians.
When an internal organ is
overactive or weak, the circulation of energy becomes abnormal. Blockages will occur in the meridians and must be cleared. This is achieved by applying acupuncture to clear the blockages, then the circulation in the meridians becomes normal and the sickness is healed.
In order to have a deeper understanding and perception of the sickness, observations are taken of the coating of the tongue, the colour of the facial complexion, and touching (the part of the body that's cold to the touch, a part that's too soft, etc).
Another is the Chinese Medical physician's unique diagnostic therapy - - taking the pulse or to palpate. Through this method, the physician will be able to know the state of the patient's condition.
The acupuncturist uses very thin needles to stimulate the energy pathways to strengthen any injured part or fascia to achieve a balance or harmony.
However for the same sickness, not the same acupuncture points may be used. This is because everyone's constitution is different as affected by the environment, age, diet, prenatal energy and Jin.
