10th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TRADITIONAL AND COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE (INTRACOM) CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION REPORT
The 10th International Conference on Traditional and Complementary Medicine (10th INTRACOM) was officially launched by the Minister of Health Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr. Haji Dzulkefly Ahmad on 27 November 2024. Held at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the two-day event focused on the theme "Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) in the Digital Age."
10th INTRACOM aimed to explore the potential of digital technologies in transforming T&CM practices. Key topics included data collection, digital innovation, and the integration of T&CM into the Malaysian healthcare systems. The conference brought together more than 400 people, including speakers, participants, and exhibitors from 27 countries.
A highlight of the conference was the launch of Research Priorities in T&CM for Malaysia, a joint initiative by the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Division (T&CMD) and the Evidence-Based Healthcare Sector of NIH. This document is intended to guide future research efforts in T&CM, promoting evidence-based practices and strengthening Malaysia's position as a leader in the field.
The event featured a diverse program of presentations, symposiums, and panel discussions by international experts in T&CM. The e-poster presentation segment showcased e-posters presented by 24 finalists comprising local and international students, researchers, academicians, and T&CM practitioners featuring a diverse range of clinical and pre-clinical studies exploring T&CM practices and herbal medicine, digital technologies for T&CM, as well as policy-related research.
In addition, an exhibition showcased a range of T&CM products and services, providing attendees with opportunities to explore the latest advancements in the field.
The success of the 10th INTRACOM was made possible by the invaluable contributions of numerous stakeholders. We extend our sincere gratitude to the following:
