What is oxidative stress?

It starts when free radicals build up in the body faster than
antioxidants can control them.

These free radicals can come from normal body processes,
but also from outside sources like processed food,
pollution, alcohol, smoke, and radiation.

When they become too high, they start stealing electrons
from healthy cells.

This can damage DNA, proteins, and cell membranes.

That is what oxidative stress is.

A state where damage starts building faster than the body can protect itself.

This is why antioxidants matter.

They help neutralise free radicals, protect cells, and support better balance in the body.

A little sweet drink here, a processed snack there, something quick in between busy hours. Nothing felt dramatic, so it never seemed like a problem.

But inside the body, things were telling a different story.

Too much sugar and heavily processed food can increase oxidative stress, putting pressure on cells, damaging DNA, and affecting how well the body ages and functions.
