读书会2.0

Our quarterly book club isn’t boring at all —
it’s basically a fun hangout where we read a bit, laugh a lot, and enjoy good company.

Friends came all the way from KL, Selangor, Melaka, and even Johor just to join in!

Honestly, reading becomes way more fun when you’re surrounded by people who make you laugh till your stomach hurts.

She used to be an insurance agent.

In 2023, at 39, she finally conceived through IVF.
Her long-awaited miracle baby. 💛

But during Chinese New Year in 2024, she suddenly fainted.
Her baby was only a few months old.
She fell into a coma and spent months in the hospital.

Her husband stayed by her side every single day,
unable to work, yet facing endless bills —
nanny fees, uncovered medical costs, physiotherapy sessions.

She’s 41 now.
Awake, but her body will never move the same again.
She can look at her baby…
but she can no longer hold her in her arms. 💔

Today, I’m helping her submit her Total Permanent Disability claim.

The doctor has confirmed her permanent condition.

I share this real story because life is fragile and unpredictable.

We never know what tomorrow may bring.

May her story remind us to cherish our health, our loved ones,
and every simple, beautiful moment we still get to hold with both hands.

有人说「风雨同路」是比喻，
但我们是——真的风雨同「路」！☔😂
整团人雨衣上身、笑声满满，
越南见证了我们最「潮」的一面～🇻🇳
同时也一起庆祝了团圆的生日🎂
还有猛男献唱助兴🎤，笑声从头到尾停不下来！🤣

People say “through rain and shine” is just a saying —
but for us, it was literally through the rain! ☔😂
Raincoats became our team uniform,
and laughter became our soundtrack throughout Vietnam. 🇻🇳💛
We even celebrated our teammates’ birthdays 🎂
— with a macho performance! 🎤🤣
What a trip to remember! 💛

🌿他在42歲那一年離開了

有時候，人生的轉折就在一個不起眼的瞬間。
一個小小的腳腫，改變了一個家庭的一生。
這是真實的故事，也是一個深刻的提醒。

It all began when he noticed his legs were swollen.
Doctor gave him some medicine, but nothing changed.
The second time, still no improvement.
By the third visit, the doctor said he could do no more,
and referred him to Institute Jantung Negara.

There, his body was filled with fluid.
He could only drink one liter of water a day,
day after day, his body releasing the excess water.
After losing about 20 to 30 kg of fluid,
the doctors said he was finally ready for surgery.

That night, his wife texted:
“Good news! The risk has dropped — the surgery can proceed.”
Everyone felt hopeful.
After the operation, the doctors said it was a success.

But when he woke up, the doctor told his wife quietly:
“Please be prepared… his heart will never be the same again.”

He couldn’t speak, his body covered in tubes,
but he still managed to lift his hand,
remove the tube, and form a little heart 🫰🏻
for his wife.

Three weeks later, he passed away.

That day, his wife messaged me.
I couldn’t believe it —
three weeks after the doctor said the risk was lower,
he was gone.
A young, handsome, kind man —
leaving behind a wife and children,
lost and heartbroken.

This story reminds me deeply —
In the face of illness, we are all equal.

So please, take care of your health. 🫂
