✨ QPS Activity Update ✨

23 Apr 2026 - Quality & Patient Safety (QPS) Unit, under the Operations Department, have successfully conducted a 2-hour workshop on abstract submission as part of our Quality Improvement Project (QIP) initiatives. The session was organized by the QPS Unit led by Pn Hidayahtulzaharah, with participation from Pharmacy, IT, Dietetic, SE, and Medical Records Unit representatives.

During the workshop, participants were guided on the abstract requirements, what to include, and how to identify problem statements from their daily work. Despite some initial uncertainty, the QPS team supported participants in translating their recent improvement efforts into measurable data and strengthening their abstract write-up.

We hope this session will support future Quality Improvement activities and can be expanded to other clinical and non-clinical services. Thank you to the involved units for the collaboration and participation.

PENGLIBATAN UKMSC DI KEJOHANAN 15TH SILENT KNIGHT INTERNATIONAL KARATE CUP 2026

Kejohanan 15th Silent Knight International Karate Cup 2026 telah berlangsung dengan jayanya pada 17 hingga 19 April 2026 di Stadium Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur. Upacara perasmian kejohanan ini telah disempurnakan oleh YDH Dato’ Mohd Azani bin Omar, Timbalan Ketua Polis Kuala Lumpur, serta turut dihadiri oleh:

1. Dato’ Hanshi Dr. T. Ponnaiah, Pengasas dan Grand Master, Hayashi-Ha Karate Malaysia

UKM Specialist Centre (UKMSC) turut memainkan peranan penting sebagai Pasukan Respons Perubatan, dengan kekuatan kepakaran dalam bidang perubatan sukan. Disokong oleh barisan pakar yang berpengalaman dalam pengurusan kecederaan sukan, pemulihan serta penjagaan prestasi atlet, UKMSC memastikan setiap peserta mendapat akses kepada rawatan yang tepat, pantas dan berkesan sepanjang kejohanan berlangsung.

Pendekatan ini bukan sahaja menitikberatkan rawatan kecemasan, malah merangkumi penilaian klinikal yang komprehensif serta nasihat pemulihan bagi menyokong kesejahteraan dan prestasi atlet secara menyeluruh.

Komitmen ini mencerminkan keupayaan dan dedikasi UKMSC dalam memperkasa perkhidmatan perubatan sukan, sekaligus mengukuhkan peranannya sebagai rakan kesihatan yang dipercayai dalam pembangunan dan sokongan acara sukan berprestasi tinggi. 🥋

UKMSC Attends MSQH Documentation Excellence Workshop 📑✨

UKM Specialist Centre participated in a 2-day MSQH workshop on “Documentation Excellence: Strategic Management for Healthcare Accreditation, Patient Safety, and Governance,” represented by the QPS and Quality Nursing teams.

The session focused on strengthening governance in developing, monitoring, and maintaining hospital documentation aligned with accreditation standards to support safe and consistent patient care.

Key highlights focusing on:
1. Document control & lifecycle management,
2. Common documentation pitfalls,
3. Decoding MSQH standards,
4. Mapping essential departmental documents and,
5. Strengthening Policies & Procedures as core governance tools.

Participants also gained insights into survey expectations and a preview of the upcoming MSQH 7th Edition tentative to be rolled out in Sept 2026.

Thank you to the MSQH trainers for the valuable session. We look forward to applying these learnings across UKMSC.
