MDIA is the sole national association representing dental devices and supply industry and member of Asia Pacific Dental Industry Association - APDIA No.
MDIA was established on 2 September 2015 and changed its name on 30 December 2019 from dental traders to dental industry, first to enlarge the scope of membership to include not only dental traders but also manufacturers and dental laboratories, second to cover both dental trade and consumer products. To be the leading platform empowering the dental industry with excellence and global relevance. Mission:
To drive innovation, foster growth and collaborations. Remark: Both Vision and Mission were set during 2023 Sabah retreat and strategic planning session. Objectives:
1) To unite all members of the dental industry in a common endeavor to develop the dental industry in Malaysia for the benefit of the members.
2) To assist and uphold the member benefits and rights in terms of the industrial, business relationship, disputes, social economy, legal and regulatory matters.
3) To conduct and coordinate training and education for the dental industry.
4) To represent, communicate and collaborate with the relevant ministries and various associations on all matters related to the dental industry.
5) To organise conferences, seminars, workshops and trade exhibitions related to the dental industry and obtain the approval of CPD points from the relevant authorities.
6) To represent and promote Malaysia's dental industry and the association regionally and internationally.
7) To assist members to obtain funds and grants for business operation and expansion.
8) To provide and organise voluntary activities, charitable work and community welfare. MDIA started Malaysia International Dental Show (MIDS) on 23-25 September 2016, being the 8th edition in 2025, is the leading international show of its kind to be held in Malaysia and the region, this time organized by both the dental school of the university together with the trade association, namely MAHSA University and MDIA. Mission of MIDS: To be the platform for all stakeholders in the dental community both local and regional organised by dental and trade organisations. The MIDS 2026 Organising Committee recently met with Dr Fauziah, Deputy Director General of Health (Oral Health), Ministry of Health Malaysia, to discuss a meaningful CSR initiative led by MDIA, the organiser of MIDS 2026.
Introducing Yes! Ceria โ a proposed initiative that reflects the spirit of a publicโprivate partnership, bringing together the Ministry of Health, industry players, and the dental ecosystem to support oral health awareness and outreach, especially for underserved communities.
Through MIDS, we believe exhibitions can go beyond platforms for business โ they can be catalysts for real social impact. Together, we aim to translate innovation, expertise, and collaboration into brighter, healthier smiles for all. ๐โจ

IMDEC 2026 Official Launching
We are proud to announce that the Malaysia International Medical Device Exhibition & Conference (IMDEC) 2026 was officially launched today โ to be officiated by the Minister of Health Malaysia, YB Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad and the Minister of Entrepreneur & Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP), YB Datuk Ewon Benedick
MDIA is honoured to be appointed as the Co-Organiser and Strategic Partner for IMDEC 2026. Our President, Mr. Jeffrey Teh, represented MDIA to receive the official appointment.
IMDEC 2026 will take place from 26โ28 August 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), bringing together industry leaders, innovators, regulators, and entrepreneurs to shape the future of Malaysiaโs medical device ecosystem.

The Malaysia Dental Industry Association (MDIA) is the national association representing companies in the dental industry in Malaysia.
MDIA aims to ensure the benefits of modern, innovative and reliable dental material & device technology are delivered effectively to provide and improve better oral health outcomes to the Malaysia community at large.
MDIA represents manufacturers and suppliers of dental product & device used in diagnosis, prevention, treatment and management of dental oral health care and services. The range of dental product & device are diverse ranging from disposables and consumables such as glove and dental filling material, through to enhance innovative dental implants such as Zirconia made implant, and high technology equipment such as dental laser and dental Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging device.
