In this activity, the child closes her eyes, reveals a picture (just like open a blindbox), and describes it. This builds confidence in speaking, improves vocabulary, and trains the brain to organize thoughts clearly.

1️⃣ Name simple objects (e.g., “flower”).

2️⃣ Add details (e.g., “a red flower”).

3️⃣ Build full sentences (e.g., “There is a red flower under the chair.”).

4️⃣ Tell short stories with feelings and actions. (e.g., "In my birthday party, I saw a red flower on the table and it made me happy.")

💡 Parents can try this at home too! It’s simple, fun, and a great way to support your child’s speech development every day. Make it a competition! 🏆 See who can give the most detailed description — child vs parent, or siblings vs siblings. This makes practice more exciting and motivates children to speak more confidently.

1.沉住气：很多时候会忍不住帮孩子拿他要的玩具，说他应该学说的话，剥夺了孩子学习的机会。所以适当的沉住气，静下心，在心中默念三秒，一，二，三，看着孩子，等一等，给孩子消化的时间，给时间 process, 惊喜会等着你。

2.不要贪心：目标只能允许一个，不能多。专一，专注。如果想教导孩子提升模仿能力，那么就专注于模仿能力而已。切莫孩子可以模仿语音时，又想同时要求孩子有频密的眼神交流。不然孩子觉得压力，会退缩。

3.活动要连自己都喜欢：我发现当本身也喜欢进行自己设计的活动，孩子也会觉得有趣，也更想与我互动。互动是双向的，当一方觉得好玩，开心的情绪绝对可以感染到另一方。制造快乐的互动时光，提升沟通质量。

4.数量化：尽可能把孩子的 performance 数量化。譬如说，孩子开始学会掌握 functional play 的技能，例如，把球传给你，那么可以把传球的次数记录下来，作为训练的 baseline 。

5.把握当下: 有时候我们在和孩子互动的时候，难免会有数不尽的想法，为什么孩子看起来不 enjoy，为什么他还不能理解指示，是不是我选择的词汇太难了，或许我要多给 prompt, 还是应该要换不同的 prompt, 还是孩子比较熟悉华文，不如先 start 简单的过动，还是治疗时间应该换去早上。。搞得又焦虑又内疚，无法专注当下。所以尽可能抛下所有，专注孩子的一举一动，自然应对。

6.永远不要跟着计划：因为计划永远赶不上变化！🫠当然要有个底，大约知道活动的内容和治疗目标是ok的，但要允许变化，允许孩子不喜欢，允许孩子以他的方式进行，be flexible，变则通。

7.多喝水：治疗时孩子和我会耗上大量的 vocal need, 会 shout in excitement, 会重复同样的音，会说故事，所以水是最佳的良药，一旦喉咙疼痛，治疗效果就减半了。我会邀请孩子一起喝水，因为有些孩子不爱喝水，也可以借此引导他们多喝水嘿嘿😉 大多结束一个小活动后就一起喝一小口的水，保持喉咙滋润，进行治疗长跑。

8.孩子喜欢什么，活动就朝着那个方向走：这点和大人的喜好是同样概念的，如果我喜欢攀岩，就算攀岩在外行看起来多辛苦多累，我都不顾一切照样进行。孩子如果喜欢画彩虹，那么治疗活动就先画彩虹吧，再延伸去diy制作彩虹卡片，贴贴粘粘，上色，再到阅读彩虹书本，克制自己，不要强求他画我们喜欢的小动物。放下自我，拥抱孩子的喜好。

与其看待语言治疗为历练，不如将语言治疗视为了解孩子的窗口！

有位孩子特别喜欢鸭子，作为语言治疗师的我便结合孩子的兴趣，设计了绘画鸭子和喂食鸭子的互动活动。

在过程中，引导孩子进行词汇表达、句子结构练习，并通过情境对话、提问与回应来强化沟通技巧。这样的语言治疗活动不仅让孩子在游戏中自然练习理解与表达能力，还提升了语言学习的动机与效果。

兴趣驱动，让语言学习像鸭子游泳一样轻松自在！🦆

One child absolutely loves ducks, so as a Speech Therapist I designed interactive activities around drawing ducks and feeding ducks.

During these sessions, I guided the child to practice vocabulary and sentence building, while also strengthening communication skills through role-play, questions, and responses. This kind of speech therapy makes learning fun and natural, helping the child improve comprehension and expression in a joyful setting.

When speech therapy is driven by interest, language learning becomes as effortless as a duck swimming! 🦆
