On 30 July 2025, the Fire and Rescue team of Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport) clinched the gold medal in the ‘Rush Duo’ event at the National Fire Fighter Drill 2025 (NFD 2025). The team, comprising four members of Northport’s Fire and Rescue unit, represented the Selangor State Fire and Rescue Department.

Northport’s Fire and Rescue team also competed in other event categories, namely Gear Up Rush, Iron Jaws and Titan Rush showcasing their versatility, physical strength and teamwork in high-intensity firefighter drills. The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department was crowned the overall champion of the NFD 2025.

Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (Senai International Airport), a member of MMC Group, has extended its support to the local education community by donating 16 used airport seats to SK Datuk Usman Awang, Kota Tinggi. The contribution is part of the school’s ongoing “Projek Pembangunan PKG/Pusat Sumber”, aimed at enhancing the functionality and appeal of its library.

Though previously used, the seats remain in good condition and are now repurposed as unique reading nooks and discussion corners for students. According to Mohamad Azizi Zamri Illias, the school's Library & Media teacher and lead coordinator of the project, the contribution has given the school library a new identity. He shared that the students are now more excited to spend time in the library, which has transformed into a more vibrant and collaborative space conducive to learning.

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group, is set to significantly boost its operational capabilities with the arrival of new terminal equipment on 10 August 2025. The port has welcomed three (3) brand-new Ultra Large Container Vessel (ULCV) Quay Cranes (QCs) and nine (9) Electrified Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes (eRTGs), fortifying its fleet to meet growing demands from customers, including the Gemini Cooperation network.

The three ULCV QCs are the first batch to arrive under a procurement agreement with SANY MARINE, which was signed in February 2024. Their on-schedule delivery marks the initial step in adding a total of 15 new QCs to the fleet.

Additionally, the nine (9) eRTGs are part of a larger 48-crane procurement agreement with Mitsui E&S Co., Ltd. signed in November 2023. Arriving ahead of schedule, this delivery completes the second batch of cranes under the agreement where the first batch of four (4) units was delivered in June 2025.

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd, a member of MMC Group, has demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship through two successful programmes held in conjunction with World Environment Day 2025, engaging employees in hands-on conservation efforts that delivered positive environmental impact.

On 5 July 2025, Northport employees cleaned up a mangrove area and planted 100 mangrove saplings of Rhizophora apiculata and Rhizophora mucronata species at Mangrove Point, Port Klang.

The company's environmental efforts extended beyond conservation to tackle textile waste through a recycling campaign held from 9 to 26 June 2025. The "Pengumpulan Pakaian Terpakai" initiative collected more than 450 kilograms of used clothing and textiles, surpassing the initial target of 300 kilograms.

Gas Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility by contributing to Tabung Selangor Prihatin in support of victims affected by the recent fire incident in Putra Heights. The official cheque handover ceremony took place at the office of the State Secretary of Selangor, attended by key representatives from the Selangor State Government and Gas Malaysia.

The financial contribution, jointly made by the company and its employees, was presented by Mohamad Farid Ghazali, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing of Gas Malaysia, to YB Datuk Dr Haniff Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer of Selangor. This joint effort reflects the shared commitment to support those in need during challenging times.

On 25 June 2025, Kontena Nasional Berhad (Kontena Nasional), a member of MMC Group, successfully organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme titled, “Road Safety Awareness: Know the Blind Spot” at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Medan. Held in collaboration with Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Malaysia PLT and the Global Road Safety Alliance, the outreach aimed to promote safer riding habits among school motorcyclists, involving around 40 students who commute daily by motorcycle.

On 10 June 2025, Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of MMC Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading British climate technology company Levidian to explore the deployment of the company’s patented LOOP technology in Malaysia and the wider region.

Levidian’s LOOP decarbonisation device is a modular system that cracks methane to produce clean hydrogen and capture carbon in the form of high-quality graphene, a supermaterial with growing commercial relevance in industries such as automotive, batteries, paint and coatings, construction and advanced materials, to name a few.

On 14 May 2025, Nord-Lock Group’s (Nord-Lock) launched its new Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) at the D5 Warehouse, Northport Distripark Sdn Bhd (NDSB). NDSB is a distribution centre with warehousing, storage and other associated facilities managed by Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group.

The launch ceremony was jointly officiated by H.E. Niklas Wiberg, Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia; Fakhrul Azhar Tajudin, Chief Executive Officer of Northport; and Graham Souter, Vice President, Head of Business Unit at Nord-Lock Group.

On 25 May 2025, Penang Port announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Thanaleng Dry Port Sole Co. Ltd (TDP), marking a significant step forward in regional trade connectivity.

This strategic collaboration aims to establish a rail-based transport corridor connecting Lao PDR to Penang Port via Thailand, forming part of the broader Pan-Asia Railway Network. Integrated with the China-Laos Railway, it will create a powerful trade linkage from southern China through Lao PDR and Thailand to Malaysia’s West Coast.
