The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) was registered on 3rd March 1987 as a national charitable organization and it strives to provide a range of support services to assist people living with autism, especially children and their immediate family members. NASOMKuantan was established in 2005 starting with 4 children and 2 teachers in a single detached home, with limited space. Nonetheless, we managed to expend facilities through:

1. Collaboration with International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), where the medical and physiological cases of our students will be referred there. Some of the IIUM lecturers and students will visit our center at the appointed time.

2. Sending our teachers to attend courses related to autism hosted by NASOM during school holidays.

3. Joint venture with the Kuantan International School, where their students have come to our center once a week for an hour to play and do assignment with children in NASOM @ Kuantan. This project has been running since February 2008 and has shown very positive results. Now, NASOMKuantan has a total of 22 students, aged 4 to 17 years, 7 teachers and one Occupational Therapist. To cover the increase number of students, we have moved to a single-storey bungalow at Teluk Sisek and have been operating since March 2009.
