On 14 August 2025, IKOP successfully conducted its Productivity Training on 5S Awareness at the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy Meeting Room, reinforcing its commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and operational excellence. The session saw full participation from all IKOP staff, including CEO Mr. Yasser ‘Arafat bin Ishak and Head of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Rushdi bin Hj. Abu Bakar, highlighting leadership’s dedication to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Facilitated by Mr. Muhsin bin Ahamed from P&Q Training & Consultancy, the training emphasized how the Japanese 5S methodology directly supports GMP standards by promoting an organized, efficient, and contamination-free workplace. Key principles covered included:
1️⃣Seiri (Sort) – Removing unnecessary items
2️⃣Seiton (Straighten/Arrange) – Organizing workspaces for workflow efficiency
3️⃣Seiso (Shine/Clean) – Regular inspection is necessary to eliminate future problems
4️⃣Seiketsu (Standardize/Maintain) – Establishing consistent practices
5️⃣Sh*tsuke (Sustain/Discipline) – Cultivating long-term adherence
By integrating 5S principles into daily operations, IKOP not only enhances productivity and safety but also upholds its reputation as a GMP-certified manufacturer dedicated to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical products. This training marks another step in IKOP’s mission to exceed regulatory expectations while empowering employees to apply these best practices both at work and in their personal lives.
