MMA Sarawak had a membership drive on 28.1.26 at the Penview Hotel during the new HOs' Program Transformasi Minda (PTM).

69 young doctors are starting their careers.
32 will be working in Sarawak and 37 will be working in Sabah.

MMA Sarawak Committee Member Dr Pravind A/L Narayanan gave a talk about MMA to the doctors.
This was wrapped up by a pep talk by me.

22 who will be working in Sarawak and 22 who will be working in Sabah signed up for MMA Membership. Freebies were given to those who signed up to become MMA members. Welcome on board MMA to all new members!

I represented MMA Sarawak at the 50th Anniversary of the Persatuan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM) Sarawak Chapter on 24.1.26 at Pullman, Kuching.

The Guest of Honor, Premier of Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr.) Abang Haji Abdul Zohari was represented by the Sarawak Deputy Premier, YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian.

Congratulations amd thank you Ar. Dr. Noraini and your Sarawak Chapter Exco for the memorable dinner.

MMA Sarawak had a Christmas -New Year Open House and MMA membership drive on 6.1.26 over lunch in the SCHOMOS Room at the Sarawak General Hospital.

61 people attended.
There were 4 doctors who signed up to be ordinary members and 1 doctor who signed up as life member.

The MMA Sarawak Charity Fun Run on 18.2.2025 managed to raise sufficient funds to procure 3 nebuliser machines and 1 height & weight scale (that can weigh up to 300Kg digitally).
These items were donated to the Sarawak General Hospital in a simple handover ceremony to Dr Ngian Hie Ung (Sarawak General Hospital Director) and her team this morning (6.1.26).
Among those present were Dato Dr Kalwinder Singh Khaira (Head of the Department of Medicine), Dr Pravind Narayanan (Internal Medicine Physician and MMA Sarawak Committee Member), Dr Lau Bik Liang (MMA Sarawak Vice-Chairman), Dr Yau May Yann (MMA Sarawak Treasurer), Dr Shakilone (Physician), Matron Kartini and Sister Rissa.

MMA Sarawak was invited to the Christmas Celebration of the Home.of Peace, Kuching on 20.12.25. This is a home for the homeless and also a home for the elderly.

It was a joyous occasion of celebration and thanksgiving.

There were Christmas carols led by Dr Tan Poh Tin and her MedicRocks Group. The keyboardist was MMA Sarawak Exco member Dr Joshua Taylor.

The Matron of the Home.of Peace Sister Flora Tingang reminded us to be grateful and thankful.
The Chairman of the Catholic Welfare Society (CWS) Mr Jacob Wong said it is in giving that we receive.
The Guest of Honor YB Dato Ir. Lo Khere Chiang in his speech said that we must be thankful to Almighty God for His blessings.
Datuk Dr Most Reverend Archbishop Simon Poh in his speech mentioned that Christmas is a time of giving and sharing. Christmas is also about "Glory to God in the highest, and Peace on to all people". He thanked all who had given to the Home of Peace.

MMA Sarawak sponsored some gifts for the residents. YB Dato Lo, Dr Liew Shan Fap (PPS MMA Sarawak Representative and President of SPMPS) joined MMA Sarawak in distributing the gifts.

Christmas Carolling with SCHOMOS Bintulu: A Celebration of Joy and Togetherness

The MMA Bintulu Subcommittee successfully conducted a meaningful and memorable Christmas carolling event yesterday in collaboration with SCHOMOS Bintulu. The event was truly spectacular, filled with joy, laughter, and the spirit of the season.

The carolling team made its way throughout the hospital, spreading Christmas cheer to staff and patients alike. As part of the celebration, presents were distributed to the hospital staff as a small token of appreciation for their dedication and hard work, bringing smiles and warmth to many faces.

The atmosphere was one of unity and goodwill, as participants joined together in song and fellowship, transforming the hospital corridors into spaces of celebration and hope.

The event concluded on a delightful note with a potluck dinner generously prepared by the hospital staff. This gathering provided an opportunity for everyone to relax, connect, and celebrate the season together, further strengthening the bond between MMA Bintulu, SCHOMOS Bintulu, and the hospital community.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated and contributed to the success of this event. It was a wonderful reminder of the power of compassion, collaboration, and shared celebration during the festive season.
