Once again, the Department of Psychiatry and Counselling Unit, Hospital Lahad Datu, proudly celebrates the success of our Annual Su***de Prevention and Risk Management Course, titled “Facing the Stormy Mind with Resilience.”
Held in conjunction with World Su***de Prevention Day 2025 and its global theme, “Changing the Narrative on Su***de,” this event marks a meaningful milestone in our department’s continuous efforts toward mental health advocacy and community empowerment.
This year, we were deeply honoured to collaborate with staffs and counsellors from Penjara Lahad Datu, school counsellors from various institutions, and clinic assistants from nearby estates — broadening our outreach and strengthening the spirit of community partnership.
We are equally grateful for the steadfast support of our multi-ministry partners from the uniformed bodies — BOMBA, ESSCOM, PDRM (IPD and PGA Bat 17), and ATM military doctors from Lahad Datu and Tawau — whose presence and shared experiences added valuable perspectives, greatly enriching both the discussions and the overall learning journey.
As both participants and organisers, we shared meaningful moments of reflection, connection, and growth, gaining deeper understanding of su***de prevention principles and their relevance across personal, professional, and operational contexts.
Together, we continue to rise — towards greater strength, greater resilience, and greater heights 🥷🎗❤️
