"Are there any hidden costs in your charges?"

6% Sales and Service Tax (SST).

Since July 2025, some elderly care facilities must charge SST on top of their monthly fees. That's an extra RM210 every month on a RM3,500 bill. RM2,520 every year. RM12,600 over five years.

But Ministry of Health-licensed nursing homes? Zero SST for Malaysian families. Completely exempt.

Most families comparing prices have no idea this tax difference even exists.

Following our Merdeka post about true independence for Malaysian families, so many of you asked about Uncle Leong's story. Denis has written a beautiful expanded piece about his journey and other families discovering this same wisdom.
