Regency Specialist Hospital proudly unveiled Malaysia’s first Japanese robotic-assisted surgical system – hinotori™, marking a new era in advanced surgical care.
The launch brought together leaders from government, healthcare, and global innovation, including our Guest of Honour YB Ling Tian Soon Ah Soon 林添顺, Johor Health & Environment Committee Chairman, alongside esteemed partners from Sysmex Corporation, distinguished doctors and media partners from around the region.
In her opening address, Ms Chin Wei Jia, Group CEO of HMI Medical, described the launch as “a defining moment not only for our hospitals, but also for Malaysia’s healthcare landscape as we take bold steps forward in shaping the future of surgery.”
A key highlight was a live demonstration by Dr Lim Huay Cheen, Consultant General, Upper GI, Bariatric & Robotic Surgeon, who used hinotori™ to delicately stitch a rose petal - a powerful symbol of surgical precision, compassion, and innovation.
With its sophisticated design and cutting-edge Japanese technology, hinotori™ empowers surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced dexterity, reduced risks, and faster recovery times, making advanced care more accessible and affordable for patients.
At Regency, we remain committed to championing innovation while staying true to our promise to deliver accessible and affordable quality care.
