Dr Rabindran Gandhi is a consultant Obstetrician , Gynecologist and Laparoscopic surgeon with interest in Infertility. He graduated from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore (MAHE), India in 1997. He obtained his Masters Degree in 2010 from University Science of Malaysia in 2010. He was trained in Laparoscopic surgery in Cochin , India ( Certificate in Laparoscopy) under Dr Hafeez Rahman.

PEDUNCULATED FIBROID

It is a growth arising from the uterus with a stalk.
It can increase in size.
Patient will normally present with abdominal pain and abdominal distension.
This patient had a 6cm pedunculated fibroid and it was removed laparoscopically with 3 small incisions on her tummy.

Removed this 2 fibroids measuring 10 and 2cm in size in February 2024 Today patient is pregnant naturally at 19 weeks .

Bilateral Tubal ligation- BTL

This is a surgical procedure done to prevent the woman from being pregnant. Procedure is done through 3 small incisions on the abdomen, and both the fallopian tubes are cut or removed.

This is a permanent method of contraception. this surgery prevents the egg or o**m from meeting the s***m, thus prevents fertilization.
The ovaries are preserved and they function normally. the womens menstrual cycle and sexual function is not disturbed.

Picture shows both the right and left fallopian tubes, patially cut and removed.

The video shows a left fallopian tube which is distended and filled with fluid. The tube is most likely blocked due to infection. This blocked tube will prevent the o**m ( egg) which is released from the o***y from reaching the uterine cavity for fertilization .

It is a common cause of infertility.
