PPSF PHARMILY SHONE IN 24TH ASIAN CONFERENCE ON CLINICAL PHARMACY 2025 (ACCP 2025)

The 24th Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP 2025) lit up the beautiful island of Bali from July 24th to 26th, 2025, hosted at The Stones Hotel Legian, Bali, Indonesia. This prestigious event, spearheaded by Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia and co-organised by over 10 esteemed institutions across Indonesia, brought together leading minds under the theme "Beyond the Limit: Advancement and Innovation of Asian Clinical Pharmacy.”

With a mission to break new ground in research, education, and clinical pharmacy practice, the conference served as a vibrant hub for over 750 participants from 23 countries. This dynamic gathering brought together academics, pharmacists, health economists, policymakers, and industry leaders from across Asia to exchange ideas and drive innovation. Malaysia proudly fielded a strong and diverse delegation of approximately 24 participants, representing Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, KPJ Healthcare University, University of Cyberjaya, Taylor’s University and Sunway University.

As always, the PPSF Pharmily stood out, lighting up the event with their outstanding contributions and vibrant presence. Their participation exemplified a perfect blend of scientific excellence, leadership, and community spirit. Here’s a snapshot of their achievements:

Congratulations Assoc Prof Dr Chan Siok Yee!

Congratulations to YSN-ASM Member, Associate Professor Dr Chan Siok Yee, on being elected as the Co-Chair of the Global Young Academy (GYA). Founded in 2010, GYA is an international organisation that connects young scientists globally. It has more than 200 members across six continents. GYA empowers early- and mid-career researchers to lead global, interdisciplinary dialogue and promotes inclusive, evidence-based decision-making on societal challenges.

CHAMPIONING INNOVATION: USM PHARMACY STUDENTS WIN BIG AT MYPSA YEP 2025

22 June 2025 - Congratulations to Wong Jing Hui, Ooi Pin Jun, and Tan Hui Teng from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, USM, for emerging as Champions of the Pitching Competition at the prestigious MyPSA Young Entrepreneur Programme (YEP) 2025.

Held on 21–22 June, the national-level programme gathered aspiring pharmacy leaders from across Malaysia through engaging webinars, hands-on workshops, and a high-stakes pitching competition.

Team USM impressed the judges with RoboFall, an innovative AI-powered solution designed to prevent falls among the elderly and enable faster, smarter healthcare responses, a breakthrough aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. This victory reflects the ingenuity, empathy, and future-ready mindset of our students, embodying the spirit of pharmacists as innovators for social good.

PHARMACY STUDENTS CROWNED OVERALL CHAMPIONS OF SUKAPPS 2025

22 June 2025 - Heartiest congratulations to the students of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPSF), Universiti Sains Malaysia, for their remarkable achievement as the Overall Champions of the 2025 Inter-School Science Sports Tournament (Sukan Antara Pusat Pengajian Sains - SUKAPPS).

Held at the vibrant Kompleks Azman Hashim from 21st to 22nd June, SUKAPPS 2025 brought together students from across various schools in a spirited display of athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship. PPSF students triumphed in multiple events, including: Badminton (Singles, Doubles & Mixed Doubles); Volleyball; Futsal; and Netball.

This outstanding victory is a testament not only to their sporting talent but also to their unwavering dedication, discipline, and unity as a team. The students’ ability to balance academic excellence with exceptional performance in extracurricular arenas reflects the holistic development championed by USM. Bravo to Team PPSF! Pusat Pengajian Sains Farmasi Anjur Program Kelestarian Seiring Agenda SDG & Universiti

USM, 20 Jun 2025 – Pusat Pengajian Sains Farmasi (PPSF), Universiti Sains Malaysia, telah menganjurkan Program Kelestarian: Gotong-Royong Perdana PPSF 2025 sebagai manifestasi sokongan padu terhadap agenda global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) dan komitmen universiti dalam memacu kelestarian.

Program yang berlangsung pada 20 Jun 2025 itu diselaraskan selari dengan tiga matlamat utama SDG iaitu SDG 11: Bandar dan Komuniti Mampan, SDG 13: Tindakan Terhadap Perubahan Iklim, dan SDG 17: Kerjasama untuk Mencapai Matlamat.

Lebih membanggakan, program ini telah menyaksikan penglibatan aktif dan komitmen jitu daripada seluruh warga PPSF melibatkan staf akademik, P&P, pentadbiran serta makmal. Para peserta telah dibahagikan kepada tiga kumpulan utama yang melaksanakan tugasan di kawasan strategik: sekitar Herbal Houz, Laman Herba (J04), dan kerja-kerja mengurus perabot di bilik-bilik yang terlibat dalam proses penukaran karpet dan penaiktarafan kepada PG Lounge.

Program ini bukan sahaja berjaya menceriakan dan mencantikkan persekitaran PPSF, malah turut berperanan sebagai wadah mengukuhkan semangat kekeluargaan dan silaturrahmi dalam kalangan staf yang datang daripada pelbagai disiplin dan latar belakang.

Setinggi-tinggi penghargaan diucapkan kepada semua yang terlibat atas dedikasi dan kerjasama yang diberi dalam menjayakan inisiatif kelestarian ini.
