Multiple parotid stones. We used to remove the parotid gland for such cases in the past. Nowadays, we perform combined sialendoscopy with external approach to remove these stones, saving the parotid gland and greatly reducing the extent of surgery needed for such cases.

A check sialendoscopy is performed following stone removal to ascertain the complete removal of calculi, residual debris, mucus plugs, and to evaluate for any areas of stenosis. Mucus plugs will be flushed out with saline irrigation via sialendoscope instrumentation port. In this video, a 1.6mm diameter sialendoscope was used.
