Dear Valued Patients & Visitors,In view of the Public Holiday in conjunction with the celebration of Christmas, the following UMSC Services & Operations will be closed/limited as mentioned above.

Kindly be advised that, all our Outpatient Clinics will be closed.

Meanwhile, our Inpatient Wards, Renal Care Unit (RCU) Emergency Medical Observation Unit (EMOU) and all Emergency Imaging & Support Services will remain open.

We will resume our Normal Hours of All Services & Operations on Friday, 26th December 2025.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Puan Norzaiton Senusi, accompanied by UMSC’s Senior Management, recently spent time specifically to examine the functionality of the latest robotic medical equipment at PPUM. The robotic equipment examined is the latest Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, which is used for minimally invasive surgery across various specialties, including urology, gynaecology , general surgery , and thoracic surgery .

​UMSC is looking into collaboration and partnership with PPUM in the use of Da Vinci Xi Surgical System to enhance precision, safety, and outcomes in minimally invasive surgery. It allows surgeons to perform complex procedures through very small incisions using 3D HD vision and enhanced dexterity via EndoWrist instruments and tremor filtration for better control and visibility.

Behind the Scalpels: A Landmark Victory in Head & Neck Oncology

Recent years have brought remarkable advancements in head and neck cancer surgery, marked by pioneering procedures that are reshaping treatment, reconstruction, and long-term patient outcomes. These milestones reflect how innovation and surgical mastery can transform even the most complex cases into meaningful success stories.

A defining moment behind these achievements traces back to a Head & Neck Oncosurgery Fellowship in South Korea a period described as the “career-changing turning point” that strengthened advanced skills in ablative, reconstructive, and reanimation techniques. This pivotal training laid the groundwork for many of the breakthroughs seen today.

Among the most significant is Malaysia’s first intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) for maxillary sarcoma, bringing targeted radiation directly into the surgical field for safer, more precise cancer treatment.
